AL only, saves/holds league.  Saves/holds is where I can gain some points but pickings are slim.  RGusto, JWebb, EOrze, CSands, IHamilton, Zerpa, Sterner, Newcomb, BBurke.... top 3 favorites here?

I'm not sure I see three favorites there. Sands could be in line for a promotion up the leverage ladder if the Twins trade Duran/Jax. Rest of these don't move the needle for me.

Meidroth is struggling, yes, but CHW should continue to play him. I would think France becomes a DFA candidate at some point.

Pls rank these players offense as potential keepers in a 12 team mixed points lg. T Freeman, v scott, b lee, c mayo. Then, rank K Carpenter, B Rice, Soderstrom & which one is most likely to earn p;ay time vs Lefties. Thanks for your thoughts.

I still love Mayo's ceiling, but can't figure out what BAL is doing with him and whether it's permanently harming him. Scott's speed gives him a nice floor as a keeper, at least.

Soderstrom's already playing almost all the time against lefties. You can see that in "recent player usage" tab on our Depth Charts.

Watched him Friday night, he indeed looked "decent". I assume he's back soon, not like the Friars are flush with SPs.

That's a very specific date, but seems like he's on track for right around that time. He's got some boxes to check along the way, though.

Off fantasy question.  Why are the Phillies vehemently complaining about their pitchers not making the AS game?  I just imagine them as "non complainers" (to the press at least).  And I also imagine most guys would rather have the time off.   Are bonuses involved?  building resumes get a better contract in future?

Bonuses are definitely involved... in fact the latest version of the story says the Phils just paid Ranger Suarez his 500k All Star Bonus even though he didn't make the team. That kind of thing is why the players are mad. The players see it as a reward for tier performance, not a Fox/MLB marketing extravaganza. That's the central disconnect here.

It's pretty bad right now, 45% strikeout rate in July. That said, if they were going to send him down, you'd think they would have done it entering the break.

The 2-HR game obv turned some heads, but it does seem like House is settling in nicely. He's going to play a lot... I think a lot of Riley owners are looking at worse replacement options.

Ray, Thanks for hosting these events.  4x4 AL-only league, 12-team,  I have a big hole at 2b and have the following available: Toro, Brooks Baldwin, and Brice Matthews, with the possibility of H. Kim getting qualified if he plays 3 games at 2b.  How do you rank these players the rest of the season?  Thanks.

Kim would be my first choice but that qualification issue might be a non-starter for you. Toro's been kind of a revelation in Boston, I might try him from this group. Not sure how much rope Matthews gets, and not seeing much from Baldwin.

Woof, I guess I like Lowe from that group? Or Grisham if Stanton gets hurt/he gets back to playing full time.

No idea what to expect from Grayson. I assume not much this year, best to hope for is that he flashes some stuff and finishes the year healthy, resetting for better things next year. But that's not a given.
