1) Garrett doing it at a mostly higher level (AAA). More likely to get the PT if/when the call comes. That would be my choice.
2) That said, this is Sirota by a good amount. Could always struggle upon promotion, but elite plate disciple so far bodes well for the future.

Would be Webb for me; just can't quite come to Romano + Coors yet. Chicago's situation not set, but feel more clarity there than in SF.
Starters ... think I would go Junk; just more experience and while Bratt has some promise, not sure there's the short-term upside there to outweigh the risk.

Too early in his career to make the claim for me. As far as I know, had no injury issues in the minors, which at this point would be about the only thing you could base the above on.  It's, what, just a little over 3 months into his MLB career? Need more than that for me.

  1. Long-term, yes. Like with the Griffin question, even a shorter MLB track record. Think he'll make some adjustments in the 2H ... but also not sure that will be enough if you're looking at 2026 only.
  2. As is, let him go? Yes, this is one where I've seen enough at this moment that I'm not 'holding' in expectation of a big fantasy payoff.

Good morning Brent!  I have two questions: do you think McCullers will be able to recapture his upside going into the latter portion of the season?  And which of these NL OF prospects do you see having the biggest impact this year: Zac Veen, Hector Rodriguez, or Cam Cannarella?  Thank you for your help!

McCullers: No, assuming you're referring to his 2019-2021ish peak. I think it COULD be a decent move for him; MIL has a good track record. But will it be as even a solid, reliable mid-rotation starter? Highly doubt it, given his struggles w command and health recently.
Prospects: Some clarification on Veen, asked in the question above. Likely, Ozzie meant is the Veen's TIME, as in, can we expect him to do something upon a promotion ... I answered it the other way. Regardless, I'm not putting a ton of stock into a 24 y/o having a very good stats season at Albuquerque. Could be a late bloomer, but will need to see it in the majors. Back to this question ... Hector Rodriguez, and "impact" is not exactly how I would describe it. Feel like it's unlikely they move  Cannarella that quickly.

Jose Soriano started the season like a #2.  He seems to have regressed to a #5 or maybe even a streamer.  Thoughts on what happened.  Can he regain some of that early form?

In April, put up career bests in K% and BB% that have come back to his normal levels since. We at BHQ have long had interest in him, so I think I may have been easier to convince ourselves that changes were made and he was taking the next step. And overall, when you look year over year, he is improving -- K% and ERA especially. At 27, the big growth curve potential might be past, though. Think you need to pick your spots with him, yes.

And  - your thoughts on the early work of Jim Jarvis in Atlanta. He seems to be able to hit! - which is nice

Eh, not sure I'd overthink this. Are the Mets going to really sit down Ewing or Benge at this point? Perhaps Robert fits into the DH role, but I need to see that first given his streakiness and injury history. I'd probably very slightly lean Kepler in a win-now fantasy situation.
Jarvis - the issue is that 2026 is kinda the first year that he's hit. Maybe he's made changes, but profile doesn't seem to have a lot of roto juice. If he continues to get PT in a deep NL like yours, perhaps you plug him in over the short-term ... but I'd expect the league to catch up with him soon.

Concerned about his bat-missing ability this year. In his good seasons, K% was in the 24-28% range; he's back to sub-20% in 2026. Throwing more strikes, but getting hit. Good that the team is doing better recently, but not a no-doubt starter in a 12 mixed.

Mesa is a former Marlins prospect; some power and a little speed but with never outstanding BA but decent OBP. Getting some run in TAM now. He's a better bet than White to help you rest of season. White just smells like a temporary promotion.

The tough thing with Marsee is that he's running at least -- so the drop may depend on where you are in steals. It seems clear that for this year at least, he's not going to hit much. Lara, on the other hand, has a strong OBP history in the minors, and with Frelick down, he could see some more time. Might lean Lara over Marsee ROS.

Lara, Locklear, Tawa. Could be a bit of short-term help, but I don't think Tawa can keep this up. Lara best overall hitter; Locklear could find some time.

Hi, Brent. NL-only, 12-team, dynasty. I've been checking the projections for Luis Lara, and they are still pretty modest after the Frelick injury. The SB category in our league is extremely tight, but I do not want to pursue Lara in trade for just a handful of swipes. Is HQ tempering expectations because Lara is only 21 and because of Bauers?

Yes, you could make a case for more PT from Lara. In an NL-only, feel like you take that shot given the circumstances. Also really haven't mentioned the MLB contract extension MIL gave Lara earlier ... unique vote of confidence that an MLB team has that could have fantasy implications (longer leash, more PT).

As long as MIA is in the race, I doubt they shut him down entirely. Is there a phantom IL move or skipping a start here or there? Could be ... but I'll bet you get another 4-6 weeks for sure. At his level this year, you take it

Can you please speak to projections for Alex Lange rest of season.  He seemed to have figured things out in last outing.  I have Alex Lange on my team and is killing my ratios.  Thinking of swapping the two.

For someone like Lange, would not take too much out of one outing. If you're starting him, you're mainly doing so for the saves. If you're close in ratios, might want to be careful, as you know.
