Happy Monday, chatters … lotsa MLB trade action to sift through, with more to come over the next 30 hours or so. All makes for a fun time of year. Quick reminder that if your questions are fantasy league-specific, help me out with a brief context - player pool, keeper or redraft, number of teams etc - as well as small list to rank as opposed to open-ended for FA pickups. Got it? All good and let’s go!

Brent- love these chats.  Thank you!  In 10 tm. H2H points, time to drop Y. Diaz for Melendez, K. Ruiz, E. Diaz, d’Arnaud, or Jansen?  Diaz has been so good, but Dusty’s gonna Dusty…
Brent Hershey
12:05
Yeah, think this prob the way to go in a 10; I expect Díaz to get reduced time with Yordan back. In a points league, might go Ruiz over MJ Melendez, but the rest of your rough ranks look solid. I'd probably prefer Y Díaz to d'Arnaud, however.

Brent, assuming that the Cubs don’t add a closer, prefer Azolay to Will Smith ROS?
Brent Hershey
12:06
Close, but likely yes since I'd think Chapman siphons off a couple in TEX, whereas Alzolay is THE GUY in Chicago.

Hi Brent, it’s finally deadline day in our league (deep 16 team H2Hl league with keepers). Doing my best to go for it again this season. Do you see IP limits becoming a factor for Bello, Garrett, and/or Taj Bradley down the stretch? Also have Eury Perez to whom this has obviously happened. Great keeper candidates but tough to carry four guys going into the playoffs in two weeks who might be on limits. Bradley is tough to deal though due to skills/results gap that just keeps growing. Am also slightly concerned about Bello given roughly correlated drop in Velo and BPV since April. Thanks so much!
Brent Hershey
12:09
Hear ya on Bello, though I feel most confident w/ him out of that trio, and if I have to choose one to deal to firm up something for this year, it would be Bradley or Garrett. Would try hard to hang onto Eury, as he's got the most keeper value by far.

Hello sir, long time listener and first time caller.  I could use your help as I’m frozen in what to do with my team. In a 5x5 dynasty where you get to keep every player on your roster. I’m over staffed for SS and can’t seem to find a trading partner. I have Abrams right now at 2b but next year will only be SS. Also have Bogarts, Pena, Tovar and Correa. Need to drop 3.
Brent Hershey
12:13
Welcome, MichaelW! I like Abrams better than Pena and Tovar long-term, so those two are cuts and/or trades. And if forced to cut one of the remaining, I'd cut Correa (better surrounding cast in SD). But, yeah, tough that you can't find a trading partner for any. Though I'm an Abrams fan, would not be opposed to trading him, either, if the return is big enough. But pairing him with one of the vets would be my best-case going forward.

In a holds league would you drop Puk?
Brent Hershey
12:14
Always depends on the other options, but would consider it, yes. Think his saves anyway for now have dried up and the current stretch is quite concerning.
Bob
12:15
Would you drop Bradley for Kutter Crawford or Braxton Garrett?
Brent Hershey
12:15
Assuming redraft ... think I would for either, yes. Slight preference Crawford > Garrett ROS.

Is it time to add Chris Sale?
Brent Hershey
12:15
Yes

Good afternoon Brent-Appreciate the advise as always-NL only 12 team 5 category dynasty league. I have to replace Cron (traded to AL) and wanted your opinion on whether I should claim Emmanual Rivera (3B, Arizona) or LaMonte Wade (OF, Giants) for ROS? I can fit either. Category wise I could use HR more than SB. Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:20
Wade fits better.

Morning, in a 12 team 5x5, sb is my best route to gain points. Is Johan Rojas a potential answer?
Brent Hershey
12:22
If it's a 12-mixed, think you can probably find better options. Rojas is a PT risk b/c right now he's only the short side of a platoon, and I think it's likely that when Pache comes back, HE becomes PHI's defense-first CFer and Rojas goes back down. Though he's surprised so far, general feeling is the bat needs more minors time.

Tyler O'neil showing some decnent skills/results since coming back.  Buying him as an end of the roster bat worth starting in H2H daily leagues?
Brent Hershey
12:24
Crazy as it sounds given the manager/O'Neil rift early in the season, yes. He's seemed to gain regular PT so should be helpful as long as he's healthy. Could still get moved in the next day -- tho even then he's probably a starter for someone.

Scenario - you have to trade for a SP in a H2H categories redraft and you have a surplus of slugging bats.  Which one of the following are you shopping:  Bellinger/Bichette/Bregman/Wander
Brent Hershey
12:26
Bregman or Bellinger. Bregman's explosive potential lower than the other three; Bellinger's surrounding cast not as good as the others.

Hi Brent.  Head to head weekly lineup points league.  We get 5 starters and 1 relief spot. My options are to start either Aaron Civale or Christopher Sanchez and use David Robertson in the relief spot, or flip Spencer Strider into the relief slot and start both Civale and Sanchez.  Would appreciate your thoughts, and thank you for doing these.
Brent Hershey
12:28
Our numbers love both Sánchez and Civale this week, so I'd make use of that (questionable, if I'm honest) Strider-as-RP allowance. I know, I know ... play by the rules you're given, haha. Good luck!

Arenado or K Marte ROS in a 6 category roto redraft league? (5x5 + OPS as 6th cat)
Brent Hershey
12:29
Arenado. Prefer track and health record.
doctor horrible

Man, Verdugo is really struggling, replace him w/ Suwinski or josh bell (in DH)?

Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:30
Definitely struggling, but I'm holding over both of those options. If you HAVE to, Suwinski > Bell (JS has more paths to value)

Pick one for ROS in a H2H cats redraft - Tyler Oneil or Tim Anderson
Brent Hershey

O'Neil (along with a rabbit's foot for health)

Hi Brent, on just another manic Monday.  Two questions. (1) How would you rate these potential closers for saves ROS: Ottavino, C. Hernandez, and R. Suarez.  (2) In a deep mixed 5x5 league, is B. Rodgers or Madrigal the better play over N. Gonzales. Is it worth trading for Rodgers, when I own Madrigal?
Brent Hershey
12:36
Oh, I dunno if this one is JUST ANOTHER ...
1) Hernandez, Otta, Suarez, which reflects my ranking of current closers' likelihood of getting dealt
2) Yes, take that shot on Rodgers; Madrigal/Gonzales a wash for me ROS
Vlad/Tatis
12:40
Hey Brent! Thanks as always for doing this every week! I'm in a startup 10 team roto keeper league. I recently made a trade for Vlad Jr., and am now looking at a trade for him in exchange for Tatis. I also have Vinnie P (next year), and Arraez qualifies for 1B to be my play for the remainder of this year if I were to make the trade. CES is also available on waivers. What are your thoughts here? Vlad or Tatis for ROS and future years?
Brent Hershey
12:40
Would rather have Tatis - broader base of roto skills, not at the end of the defensive spectrum, etc. In a 10-teamer, with VinnieP in tow and Arraez, I might still pick up CES and hope that MAYBE he gets some eligibility at somewhere other than 1B by end of season? But he's 3d in pecking order for me given these first basemen (though perhaps you reconsider Arraez given that he's BA-only). Some good options.
B Raley
12:41
Is Brooks Raley worth a roster spot over Puk, Munoz, or Adam in a keeper league (5X5 saves not holds)?
Brent Hershey
12:41
Can you ask me tomorrow at like 7p ET? Right now, probably Raley over Puk, but I'd prefer Muñoz and Adam both to him right now.

Hi Brent, Looks like Jazz is going to be activated today, which means I'll unfortunately need to drop one of the following in my 12-team H2H Points League. How would you rank Fraley, Lane Thomas, and Gimenez for ROS? Thanks, as always.
Brent Hershey
12:44
I think I'd rank them as you have em ...Giménez is the drop

Long term worry for Gavin Williams based off his season so far? Ugly under the hood
