Is Grant Taylor the new CWS closer? His skills look elite.
Brent Hershey
12:33
Sure seems like it, yes. Team usage would tend to agree.

Hi Brent!  What should we think about Drew Rasmussen, now that it appears the Rays will cut his innings and basically turn him into an opener?  If there is little chance he can earn Wins, are we better off filling his spot with a reliever who might at least earn some SOLDS?  Or do the quality innings and Ks mean he's still startable?
Brent Hershey
12:39
THIS is of course the flip side of the Boyle question just a bit ago -- and I don't think we know enough at the moment. If the order is always going to be Ras first and then Boyle, then yes, Ras's roto value is going to tank —or, you'll need to think about him as a VG middle reliever. If, as they sometimes do in piggybacking, the starter/reliever alternate roles in subsequent starts, then we'll need to be judicious with both starting/sitting, trying to have the "follower" be active. Maybe the Rays have addressed this question; I've not come across it yet. But yeah, pretty big fantasy implications here for both those who roster both Boyle and Ras.

Good morning everyone!

Brent ... I'd love to know on a rating from 1 to 5 (1 = "Heck no!" and 5 = "Heck yes!") how legit you think these guys are:

  1. Kyle Stowers
  2. Nolan Schanuel
  3. Addison Barger

TY!!!
Brent Hershey
12:41
  1. 4
  2. 4 (assuming legit = increased pop)
  3. 6 ... love what we've seen so far. Most impactful of the three.

Ozuna and Rasmussen were two of my bargains at the draft.  Ozuna is playing through an injury.  Are we going to see improved number after the ASB?Bonus question: does Rasmussen make 12 more %IP starts to get to his 150 IP?
Brent Hershey
12:44
I'm not overly optimistic on Ozuna rebound. Could happen, but feel it's unlikely. Sorry, not following the Rasmussen question; seems his ROS usage still up in the air.

Quickie: mixed league 5x5 - which 3B N Marte or J Burger. Many thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:44
Marte in a vacuum, but Burger if you're prioritizing power.

QS dynasty. Sheehan, Priester, Boyle. Please Rank. All are $1 on waivers.
Brent Hershey
12:45
Sheehan, Boyle ... <gap>.... Priester

OBP dynasty. Is Freeman (COL, $1) a guy to invest in? Also, have O. Cruz for CF next year at $10.
Brent Hershey
12:46
At $1, probably worth a shot. Would be realistic when it's keeper time next year, though. Not a sure thing at the moment by any stretch.

OBP league.  Is Christian Walker turning it around or should I try to move him?
Brent Hershey
12:46
With no other context; I'd probably trust the track record, good team, great hitting environment and hold.

Any thoughts on Darvish ROS?  Not much was said about his injury or progress leading up to his start today.
Brent Hershey
12:48
Like to think he can have some value here, but unlikely to go deep for first few starts. Positive is that he shouldn't need to be shut down or anything the rest of the way. Pitch options, decent MLB team, veteran savvy a plus.

hi Brent, which free agent catcher should I draft while waiting for Amaya? higashioka, ari herrera, fermin, h davis, mccann? thank you,
Brent Hershey
12:49
Yeah, rough. Higgy for PT I guess; Davis the most likely to grab/surprise in 2H if you want to go that route.

By the way are we worried about Cade Smith this week — and the rest of this season given back spasms held him out and then he came back and got lit up?
Brent Hershey
12:50
Worried, yes. Most times no reason to "wait it out" on setup/middle relief guys, even ones that have been outstanding. Should be able to find others.

QS league. Bibee is so hard to predict. Any insights on when to play him? Should I drop him for E. Sheehan?
Brent Hershey
12:51
Given Sheehan a lot of love today so far, but not sure I'd go this far -- though league size, needs, etc also play a role. Bibee def frustrating, though.

Didier Fuentes - I want to like him and I want to see him do well, but I don't think I want him on my fantasy team! Agreed?

16 Tm dynasty 6x6 ops holds, no contracts or $ amount attached to player...contending and always on search for SP; would give Jared Jones and prospects Aroon Escobar, Jackson Baumeister for Sandy Alcantara. Do we see the brighter days ahead for Sandy? Make the move? Thank you for the weekly chats
Brent Hershey
12:53
Don't think I would do this unless we were sure it was the Sandy of old. Maybe he gets moved and/or finds it again in 2H, but ... I'm skeptical given how the season has played out so far for him.

hi Brent, #1 which 3 pitchers should I start this week: soroka, gallen, roupp, rasmussen, evans? #2 which 3 batters should I start this week: l-raley, burger, n gonzales, j sanchez, t estrada, j polanco, m vargas? thank you
Brent Hershey
12:57
  1. Soroka ... Gallen and Roupp I guess (though Rasmussen if you are OK with punting a win and figure on just a couple IP)
  2. Burger, Raley, Sanchez

In competitive race. Is Taylor Walls worth keeping? Would Eaton or Canzone be better?
5x5 - OB and TB categories otherwise standard.
Thanks.
Brent Hershey

Canzone would be better

In a roster crunch with IL returns / promotions. Need to drop two of Chase Burns, Reese Olson, Emmett Sheehan, and Gausman. Shehan seems like the easy choice but struggling beyond that. What do you think? (5x5 QS)
Brent Hershey
12:59
Sheehan and Burns, really (though changes if it's a keeper lg of course). Olson if not I guess. Tough calls, yes.

AVG-OBP-K-TB-R-RBI-HR Dynasty. Have Lewis ($10). Worth keeping for the future? When healthy how good is he really?
Brent Hershey
1:01
When healthy, really really good. Has not proven he can stay healthy. Easy comp b/c of team, but think of it in broad terms like his teammate Buxton. Happens to stay healthy, this is what you get. Has that happened enough the past, and/or can you predict when this will be? No way.

Lewis might be worth keeping until he gets into one of his hot streaks again. Then look to move.

Concerned about B. Lowe's side injury. Which 2B replacement would you prioritize: Stott, Colt Keith, Durbin, Gorman, McKinstry, Bogaerts, Donovan, Arraez, Muncy? Looking for all around production but speed is a plus in these SB-starved times. (5x5 OBP)
Brent Hershey
1:03
Donovan, Stott, maybe McKinstry
