Welcome to another 'Manic Monday'! 12 team mixed 5x5. We have 1 IL spot, and I have Berti in it with Robert (IL) on the bench. I am 4 points out of 1st (2nd in P but 10th in H), with Hr, R, and W's being the categories where I can gain the most. Since the rest of my team is quick overall, and I have a 14 sb cushion over the team below me, dare I drop Berti to pickup any of: F. Reyes, R. Urias, S. Brown, Verdugo, A. Hayes, or E. Suarez? Thanks!
Brent Hershey

In your situation (context and standings), I think I'd say "Thanks for your service, Berti" and move on. Sounds like Franmil, Suarez or Brown could be good fits.

In the fast round-NL  5 x 5 standard keeper league: Trade offer and wanted your opinion-would you trade Braxton Garrett (salary is 3A) and worst CO for Patrick Wisdom ($19A) and worst pitcher. I'm in 6th place and trying to make a push for 4th and have Berti and Tatis both coming back soon too.
Brent Hershey

Unless your SP is amazing, I would not; would think a $3 Garrett would serve you well in 2023. Just not that big of a Wisdom fan.

Hi! 10-tm H2H category. Who do you like ROS Wood, Stripling or Cutter Crawford? Is it close? Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:58
Wood > Stripling, though that one's close. Don't trust Crawford in a 10 teamer just yet

Hi Brent, in a 16 team league (32-man rosters with keepers) that’s H2H categories, one of which is saves plus holds. Would Elijah Morgan be a hold for you? Skills are mostly solid, but all of those HR are rough. Also, thoughts on Nick Senzel ROS? Hasn’t really tapped into potential skill-wise but wire is pretty thin. Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:59
Don't think I'd be holding Morgan. Might take a shot on Senzel, though, in a league that deep

12 team mixed 5x5. How do you see these going forward? Whose the safest bet to not blow up my ratios? R. Suarez, T. McKenzie, T. Skubal, C. Carrasco, L. Lynn, or M. Kopech?
Brent Hershey
1:01
Skubal best combo of ceiling/floor here for me. Might consider McKenzie or Lynn
Jhonk Being Jhonk

Is the low babip for Jhonkensy Noel a reason to remain hopeful on the hit tool being at least league average?
Brent Hershey
1:02
Not for me. Classic back-shoulder-drop, all-or-nothing swing for the fences guy. My hunch would be that low BABIP at least due in part to high FB rate. Will be tons of Ks in that profile

Any shot Corbin Carrol gets a call up in September?
Brent Hershey
1:03
Perhaps; though could well just wait until 2023 instead.

Is O'Neil Cruz a guy you dangle in a keeper league in a go-for-it trade, or is he someone that needs to be hold on to?
Brent Hershey
1:05
Return would have to be huge for me in terms of proven, win-now talent. I'm more likely to hold Cruz given the outlandish skills that have a small percent chance of exploding in the 2H, if not next year.

NL-only, this year only.  Drew Smyly or Patrick Corbin?
Brent Hershey

<holds nose> Smyly :-)

Jonathan Hernandez closer? and could you tell me why Munoz who was stunning again yesterday is not closing in Seattle. even the home announcers are in awe. thanks again
Brent Hershey
1:07
Always liked Hernandez; seems like 2H opp could be there. Sewald pitching great; SEA likes to mix/match and doesn't care who is getting saves.

one more. i watched bello yesterday. unluckiest pitcher. think red sox might pull a pedro and have him close down the stretch if they are in it? thank you
Brent Hershey
1:09
Close, as in saves? Very little chance, I'd think. For one, Whitlock/Houck have done it before; don't see Bello leapfrogging those guys. Two, the "if they are in it" might be wishcasting at this point

I saw that Dustin Harris played his former position of 1B for the Futures Game and it seems like ages ago he played there for the Rangers in A/A+. Do you think the Rangers are using this season as means of gauging defensive versatility or is OF his likely position for them now? Thanks again!
Brent Hershey
1:09
Versatility is the trend

Thoughts on Nick Pratto? As a power 1b with sb potential, he seems like a potential difference maker in a 5x5 roto..."IF" it all transfers to the show!
Brent Hershey
1:10
Yep, and a good batting eye that COULD help in OBP leagues. But, those holes in his swing raises the 2022 risk significantly for me
Correa?
1:11
Hey Brent - what do you think of Correa here? I have an offer of my Carlson and Baez for his Correa in a keep 22 6x6 league and I'm tempted to take it. I have OF depth and can pick Belt or J Lowe up off the wire to fill in the Carlson hole. Thoughts on that trade as well?
Brent Hershey
1:11
Yep, I'd want Correa even though Javy COULD get white hot. Give me stability

Who collects the most Sb's ROS? V. Robles, J. Berti, L. Taveras, C. Mullins, W. Merrifield, or someone else?
Brent Hershey
1:12
Off this list ... Taveras or Mullins.
Porcho Villa

Buzzer beater: as a ROS SB source, would you prefer Jarren Duran and his short / mixed track record or H. Bader and his balky foot?
Brent Hershey
1:12
Duran

In a keeper league, who's side are you on?  Shane Baz or Jerrad Kelenic?
Brent Hershey
1:13
Ooo, good one to end on. Think there are fewer Baz's than there are Kelenic's. Give me Shane.

That's it ... good chat, y'all; thanks for coming. Will be back next week, sorting out the several deals that I predict will take place over the next 7 days. While you're here on the site, check out First Pitch Arizona if you want an amazing fantasy baseball weekend trip to the AFL in November. Cheapest pricing runs through Sunday. Thanks all ... 'til next week!
