Just have to separate the fact that subscribers pay us for insights/advice. We (speaking for BHQ staff) also take pride in helping others get the jump and win their leagues. Sure, we each personally want to do well, but service to subscribers is our main focus.

Happy Monday, Brent.  Have a pair for you in a 18-team context:
1. Colt Emerson ( 68% ct with 10% BB, .260 XBA and league average xPX): will he stick ROS and do we another level in him?
2. Do you believe Manaea can viable in Mets rotation?

  1. Yes, I think he'll stick given how careful SEA was with him in the minors. I think they feel he's ready for whatever comes.
  2. No, I don't. Well ... should soften that a bit, as I don't play in any 18-team leagues. But I still find it tough to believe in him right now. Just been so long that we've seen a good stretch ... AND he still has elbow issues that didn't get cleaned up in the winter.

Sure would seem like he has a leg up on Scott and Torres. But really depends on health. It's what has taken so long, so I HOPE STL feels he's ready to go. Their surprising record likely plays into this, too; they should be putting their best team out there for the time being.

Worth it in an NL only. There will def be some WHIP risk as his command comes and goes, but he's just as good if not better than Junk/Lopez right now.

Doubt it highly, unless Elly's injury from yesterday is much better than what it looked like. Without that, yes, it would seem like another AAA reset was in the cards. All up in the air now.

And that spring training masher is still in Goodyear, it would seem. Tough reminder of the pitfalls of trying to analyze spring stats.

Yeah, getting the call I see just now (Elly IS going to IL). Having a great season at AAA with more power than expected (11 HR). At 22, that's a great sign; defense is also plus. Should have some runway and plays other IF positions so could stick if he's hitting when Elly gets back.

NL-only 10-team $260 5x5. Are both Justin Crawford $5 and Gavin Sheets $10 likely keepers for 2027? Which is better?

At this point, yes, both would be considerations. If Sheets morphs into a full-timer (plays against most LHP), then he'll probably have more value. But if Crawford gets more comfortable where you can easily predict 25-30 SB in 2027, he might be the pick at $5 less.

Brent: 10 team head to head, I have Harper, C. Walker and Josh Naylor, who has been on the bench most weeks.  Only one Util spot.    For the record, Harper and Walker have scored 213 and 219.  Naylor lags with 156.  Homers are key. Is he too good to drop in a 10 teamer?  Not sure he even draws interest in a trade.

Hi Brent - I know, I know, trust the track record, but Kyle Tucker has been a huge drag in my H2H 10 teamer.  Not so bad that I suspect injury but just bleh overall. Any thoughts on his underwhelming start?
