Greets, chatters! Appreciate you all coming out in real-time OR dropping in a question ahead in the queue. Is always a fun hour for me. Let's get to it!

Thanks for continuing these chats every year. In AL-only league. For rest of season, who’s the better rookie hitter - Manzardo, Horwitz or Locklear, in Roto stats? And why? Thanks.
Brent Hershey
12:05
Manzardo. All have flaws, but in cases like this I'll bet on pedigree, and KM is the clear winner. The fact that he has a several weeks headstart on the others (even though admittedly, it's not been great) counts for something, too. And then none have an outstanding classic power-first profile, but Manzardo is the closest to it from where we stand now.

Scherzer,  Baz, G Williams, etc.  Who are your favorite stashes among the rehabbing pitchers?. Thank you.
Brent Hershey
12:07
Williams out of that trio, partially b/c he seems the closest. But also because both Maz/Baz have lengthier injury histories. He probably doesn't have the ceiling of the other two (well, though I guess Scherzer's ceiling at his age might be debatable) but Williams seems like the percentage play.

Good Morning Brent and Happy Monday!
Thanks to you, Ray, your team and this site I’m sitting in 3rd place in my dynasty 5x5 league despite soul crushing injuries and demotions. I just wanted to share my appreciation for the work you all do. Is there a tutorial for the League Sync? I want to make sure I’m using that tool correctly.

Love to hear it, and thanks for the testimonal! Our BHQ team works hard at providing the info for results just like this. At the moment there is not a step-by-step tutorial for LS, but we've chatted about developing one. In the meantime feel free to drop by here and ask specific questions as you have em.

Happy Monday Brent-I am in a NL 5 x 5 dynasty league with 5 minors priced at $5 each. I have a trade question as I am in 2nd place but 11 1/2 points out of first. The only category I can gain 6 or 7 points is saves but have been offered a trade from a team that wants James Woods badly. He offered Yamamoto ($31), Reed Garrett $4)  and Bryan Reynolds ($34)  for James Woods ($5) , Mark Leiter ($5), Mike Tauchman ($3) and Yuki Matsui ($10)-he has no save guys. Fair but doesn't help where I need it. What's your assessment? As always-your response is much appreciated.
Brent Hershey
12:14
I echo your "Fair but doesn't help where I need it" assessment. To move someone like Wood in dynasty, I'd make sure a) you getting a haul back and b) it's no-doubt filling a need for a current or future run. I'd sit tight and not let the "but it's fair" sentiment seep in too deeply.

good morning, I have a 2-parter:  1. Should I be concerned with Rutchmans lack of walks this year?   2. What side do you like better….Rutchman or Royce Lewis, Kyle Teel, Spencer Jones?  Scoresheet AL only dynasty league, both teams are middle of the road.
Brent Hershey
12:19
  1. I would not, no. That's a skill he has shown in his past, and while yes, it's been fewer than we expected this year, it's not like that's his ONLY skill. I chalk it up to young-player adjustments in MLB.
  2. Rutschman side. More valuable and safer current MLB player, the "not-having-to-worry-about-catcher" issue for a while in a Scoresheet league is huge. Another trade that seems fair .. but I definitely want the "bird in hand" side.

Good day Brent-Mon! Roll out Heaney at Seattle hoping for a Wins and Ks or Tylor Megill with two starts for the Metropolitians? instead a reliever, our friend Kerkering on the Phillies at Boston and Baltimore trying to get some holds or ratios? Which two of three start for thee this week? Merci!
Brent Hershey
12:21
I'd roll with Megill and Kerkering -- especially if holds are part of the equation. Heaney's inconsistency makes it tough to start him when you have other options such as these.

Please rank these catchers ROS in standard 5x5... Murphy, O'Hoppe, Langeliers, Stephenson
Brent Hershey
12:27
Could really make the case for any, but I'd probably go
  1. Stephenson - ride this wave
  2. Langeliers - metrics say BA is coming; even if he gets to 240/250 with all those HR, he's quite valuable
  3. O'Hoppe - intangibles should provide plenty of PT; shown enough bat so far to do with
  4. Murphy - injury history, slow start, depleted surrounding lineup so far. BUT ... again can easily make the case for him given track record of VG Statcast data. But not so much this year.

Trade advice - 12T H2HP league.  Looking to upgrade infield Currently have Kim (SD), Gorman (STL) and Devers (BOS) in IF.    I have Y Alaverz (HOU), A Garcia (TEX) and Harris (ATL) OFs.  Looking to trade Garcia (OF) or Harris(OF) for Trea Turner (SS).  Move Kim to 2b, drop Gorman.  Have Wyatt Langford riding the pine. Is this a good move or do I just want a Phillie in my lineup?
Brent Hershey
12:35
So another way to look at it -- Turner and Langford in;  Gorman and Garcia out. I feel like Langford is the weak link here, and while yes Trea is a points-league upgrade, I think you're banking on Langford showing us something he hasn't yet so far. Could pick it up in the second half, sure, but feel like you know what you're getting in Garcia/Gorman. Think I might pass.

To follow up on your Manzardo post, any real chance of Locklear sticking with the Mariners?
Brent Hershey
12:37
Sure ... they could use the boost, and the whole 'broken heel' (France) could linger. If Locklear hits with some pop, they probably find a spot for him ... but the "if" is doing a lot of work.

What's up with the Nationals?  Jessie Winker with 11 steals?  Serious question - is Nick Senzel a good player now?  How about Luis Garcia?  Will the nats be buyers this year?
Brent Hershey
12:44
Nats are taking advantage of some team speed AND the rules/ other things as well. I mean, that recent Winker SB surge was outta nowhere (check out his sprint speed; it ain't good). But they are definitely exploiting something as a team. It's a solid place to look for steals right now; and it started in spring training.
Healthy Senzel, yes, is a good player. Just haven't seen enough of that (health) so far in his career; including this season. Garcia has always been young for his level, so there are ways in which this burst is not surprising. In the short term, he's become a BA+SB guy with middling power. BUT ... realize they are strictly platooning him, which is important to acknowledge in a week-to-week lineup basis.
I strongly do not believe they will be buyers. The farm system is strong at the top (Wood/Crews) and I think they'll mix those guys in later this year, when they probably move on from Winker/Meneses/Gallo types.
One last thing, tho -- the SP has been a pleasant surprise. That's helped.

Lean start. Not a slam dunk.

Is Eugeneio Suarez toast?   Is Tellez on his way back?
Brent Hershey
12:46
For both: probably not, but not not looking to acquire either. If I already have them, picking spots carefully and one eye on an upgrade. Slightly prefer Tellez, but he'll never be what we wished at one point.

Which side would you prefer to be on where you are going for it in a dynasty 10 team 5x5: Wheeler for King/Painter
Brent Hershey
12:47
Going for it? Wheeler easily.
cutting Kutter?
12:48
hi, which pitcher should complete my 9 this week? Crawford (2 starts Phi and NYY), tyler anderson, Canning or Kinley? thank you
Brent Hershey
12:48
Believe the most in Crawford's skills, but that's a gauntlet week. Might try and squeeze by with Anderson.

Is Rizzo done or just slumping?
Brent Hershey
12:50
Worried about this. Age, post-concussion year makes one wonder if it's the former. "Rational" side says the latter. I'm benching for now

12:50
hi, who should I bench this week? Langford or Palacios? Arenado, Hoskins or Vientos? Schneider, Rosario or O-Lopez? thank you
Brent Hershey

I'm taking one from each group .. Langford / Arenado / Rosario

12:51
Hi Brent! What do you think of Rodon as a trade target (5x5 QS league)? Obviously injury risk will always be there but currently healthy, performing, and on a nice run... would a possible innings limit also be a concern?
Brent Hershey
12:51
Think he's a decent trade target. Definitely pitched better (or has been more healthy) than I expected.

12-team H2H points league, spent high picks on Arozarena and Riley, needless to say, I'm in last place.

Thoughts on trying to dump them for something, anything or a combo of bad luck/hidden injuries and ride it out and wait for positive regression?
Brent Hershey
12:53
Think you gotta just ride it out ... unless you're able to live with the pain of dropping them and seeing both snap back to historical levels in the 2H. You picked them high b/c of their track record; now is when you lean on that. If it doesn't work -- hey, it happens.
Brent Hershey
12:54
Y'all are bringing it. Will try to whiz through a bunch before I have to run.

Carlos Rodriguez MIL worth taking a gamble on assuming he is recalled from AAA tomorrow to start vs TOR?
Brent Hershey
12:55
Not for me without an MLB start. Lower-ceilinged prospect.
