Welcome, all! After a full week away from chats, glad to fire this one up. Got a healthy dose of questions in the queue, so let's not dally …

Hi Brent--How would you rank Taj Bradley, Cecconi, and Brandon Young ROS? Thanks.
Brent Hershey
12:02
In the order you have them. Bradley has shown the highest ceiling and has the most experience. Likely not as good as his first six weeks were, but I'll take those improvements over the other two. Cecconi and Young are close; the better MLB team gets the slight edge for me.

Thanks for the Chat Brent! Love these! NL 10 team 5x5. I'm doing ok but my pitching is falling apart. I can try for A Alvarez and/or J Cabrera or grab MRs. The pitchers who are killing me are JR Ritchie, E Cabrera, & R Vasquez. Which of the 3 should I jettison? All of em? Are Alvarez or Cabrera a step up or am I rearranging the chairs on the Titantic?
Brent Hershey
12:06
Yeah, I'd prob move on from Ritchie first, and might try Alvarez. In a deep NL, you likely need to keep both Cabrera and Vasquez for now; not sure you'll find upgrades on the wire.

I have Bieber coming off the IL today.  I'm not activating him until I see how he pitches today.  If he pitches well would you drop any of the following pitchers to activate him:  C. Cavalli, C. Early or P. Tolle?  I'm inclining to drop Cavalli, but would appreciate your advice.  Thanks!  P.S.  My other SP's are May, Rasmussen, Wheeler, Luzardo, Gausman and Ohtani.
Brent Hershey
12:08
Yeah, I think you have that right. Be careful, though, if he Bieber struggles some today. Might be worth holding onto but not activating (if you rules allow) for a bit in that case.

Dodger Max Muncy sat 2 games this week in favor of Edman. How much do you see this happening? Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:11
Not where I'm worried about Muncy. They do seem like they want to get him AB, and Edman's versatility will come in handy for that. But feel like 2B will shake out as the primary spot where Edman picks up AB.

12 team mixed OBP league. I can keep two of these three. Caglianone K Griffin S Stewart. Thoughts. Thanks for the chat.
Brent Hershey
12:13
Likely Griffin and Stewart ... though now is a cruddy time to have to get Jac go. But the others (assuming Griffin is on his way back) give you safer production.

Hi Brent, 5x5 redraft, obp i/o Avg. do you think Salvatore Perez will rebound this year and Sandy Alcontara will trend upward moving forward
Brent Hershey
12:17
Perez: batted ball quality taking a hit; that matched with his age makes a rebound slightly less likely. Possible, but also possible this is the start of decline

Alcantara: Skills say this version is what he is. Usable, but that ace-level guy from a couple years ago is unlikely to return. Less swing and miss, and thus Ks, etc.
15-Team 5x5
12:20
Rank ROS
Assad, Alvarez, Ritchie
would you start any of them this week if you had relievers to fill in?
Brent Hershey
12:20
Alvarez, Assad, Ritchie. Alvarez is startable in 15s, I'd shy away from the others.

12:22
Hi Brent, thank you for doing these. Do you play Witt this week, my alternatives are J Bell, L Thomas and M Mclain
Brent Hershey
12:22
I'd probably sit Witt, and rank the others Thomas, McLain and Bell. Would hope that Thomas might continue his mini-warm streak and possibly even get a SB or two while you wait for Witt

In 5x5, pick 3 to start for me behind Rasumssen
Cole @DET @BOS
Imanaga @NYM @ MIL
Luzardo @WAS @NYM
McClanahan vKC vARI
Mize vNYY vHOU
Schlittler @BOS

Leaning towards Luzardo, Schlittler & Cole right now
Brent Hershey
12:24
Those would likely be my choices also, a good mix of upside and 2-steps

Doesn't seem SP Kade Anderson SEA is likely to get called up any time soon.  He's not even on the 40-man roster, right?  Thoughts?
Brent Hershey
12:26
Correct, he's not on the 40-man. Will probably come down to a health question; if a couple (since they have 6) SP go down, then he's a likely calllup (they would find 40-man room). Otherwise, prob just have him refine things in the minors.

Hope a great Father’s Day weekend, Brent. Hope you had a good one. All things being equal in a 16 team mixed with OBP who do I start this period. For this week, two lineup decisions: Cooper Pratt, Burger or Mead at U? Marsee, Castro or Kwan at OF? And do you trust Zebby or Drohan this week my alternates are Grant Taylor and Fairbanks. Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:32
Thanks, Hoyasaxa!

First trio: Burger. Experience, PT advantage
Second trio: Castro. Hard to have much optimism for the two disappointments.
Pitchers: Our model like Drohan > Zebby; I'd probably put Fairbanks in there over Zebby also

Hi Brent.  Thanks for coming back!  AL only, obp league.  Trying to decipher DGuzman fab bid.  Good for some pop and some SBs?  He is going to get PT?  30s bid?
Brent Hershey
12:35
Good to be back! Feel like yes, Guzman has some PT rope and has gained more with his big weekend. Had shown some adjustments at AAA that are coming to fruition here; some pop/SB potential. Bid in the 30s would likely be a high-end I'd think (though you know your league better than I!)
Blondie
12:38
AL only.  What say you regarding Bieber?  He will be a solid #3 ROS?  How likely is he to just flop?  (Sorry, you get the impossible questions!)
Brent Hershey
12:38
A solid #3 is a decent expectation. Always tricky coming back from injury. Is older, and recent history of injuries, so, "flopping" is a possibility also. I'm being somewhat cautious with him where I can - both on in inserting him in the lineup, and/or bidding on him to acquire. He'll certainly have the opportunity in TOR to stay in rotation if he pitches well.

5x5 roto dynasty   I lost Vinnie P (though he wasn’t doing much for me) to injury, replacement pickings are slim… who do you prefer between Curtis mead, Salvy Perez, or Rhys Hoskins? Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:39
Mead by a good margin. Feel like Hoskins might be done as a stable contributor. Like Perez a bit better, but he has warts as well (see one of the first questions from today). Mead still mid-20s age wise, and is important part of that Nats lineup. Roll with it.

12:42
NL ONLY, Saves/holds.  Julian Garcia for potential holds?  Any interest in Jose Cabrera as a decent SP ROS?  (I am reaching for straws as I drop RNelson and Puk.)
Brent Hershey
12:42
I'd pass on Garcia and try to find a MR with a better team context. Cabrera in an NL only could be a decent straw. Having two ARI rotation members go down should help his chances to stick (in theory)

Is Sterling Thompson now a starter or the Rockies just doing their usual "let's mess with fantasy managers rosters!" thing?
And, NL 10 team 5x5, would you jettison $2 R Ward for any of Cooper Pratt, Tommy Troy or S Thompson (all 3 are on waivers this week)
Brent Hershey
12:46
New regime in COL! But no, I think Thompson is getting short-term look mainly b/c of McCarthy being out and Moniak, Beck and Doyle's longer absences. Would not read too much into it. That said, will be fascinating to see what COL does as the trade deadline approaches.

Would probably prefer Pratt over Ward; Troy/Ward would be a tossup. Pratt likely safer PT ROS than the other three.
Tuco
12:47
NL ONLY, saves/holds.  How about:  Pierce Johnson and Wilber Dotel ... they are both potentially decent Holds guys, correct?  Dotel is the preference?
Brent Hershey
12:47
Yes, assuming Dotel is healthy. Big arm who could have a decent role later this summer.
Tuco
12:49
NL only, obp league.  I think I read that Drew Gilbert will be getting PT in SF.  Is he worth a pick up?  or will hurt more than help?
Brent Hershey
12:49
Smaller framed guy without much power or speed and only middling OBP skills. MLB manager was his college coach, but don't think he's a long-term solution in SF.
Tundra

In my home league, I will lose Helsley if I don't activate him.  Activate him or keep Alvarado for my third closer?
