Howdy, chatters ... full queue as usual — though don't let that stop you from adding questions! I'll get through as many as I can. Definitely a fun time of year and lots to talk about. Let's dive in ...

Hi Brent.  Deep NL 5x5 league.  I've been holding on to House as our league has slim FA pickens. What's your take on him getting called back to the Nats sooner than later?
Brent Hershey
12:05
Probably worth holding in an NL-only, but would remember that House is a holdover from the previous front office regime. The longer that Mead hits and solidifies himself there, the longer the odds that maybe the FO just views House as an up-and-down type. TBD, I'd say.

16 team. 5x5 (QS instead of wins). Mixed. Would you start J Jones vs LAD and/or at Athletics this week?
Brent Hershey
12:05
Yes; feel like he's a play-the-talent type

Morning whats the deal with Joyce-LAA, ? ,I keep holding him waiting for news he going to pitch this year, whats your take on him? should I hold him? thanks raider34
Brent Hershey
12:08
I'd move on; so many things have to happen to make him worth it: 1) health; 2) manager's choice in the 9th; 3) success in that role. Heck, if he makes it to 1) and is back pitching in the big leagues, can't imagine that he'd be expensive to pick up at that point.

Thanks for doing these. Standard 4x4 Roto, AL-Only.  Please rank ROS:  C. Prielipp, J.  Cantillo, M. Burrows, Z. Matthews.  Where would M. Abel slot in when/if he returns?
Brent Hershey
12:09
Zebby, Prielipp, Burrows, Cantillo. Abel likely heads the list if/when he gets back, due to what we saw in spring training and early in the year.

Drop Joe Adell for either Trent Grisham or Kerry Carpenter?  Also, I must activate Hader from my DL or lose him.  Should I drop either Latz or Munoz to activate him?  My gut says drop Munoz.
Brent Hershey
12:13
Depends how much you need the AB. Adell plays every day. Carpenter probably has the slightly better skills outlook, but still platooning. Grisham easy 3d on this list.

RP: Tough; would probably drop Latz, as even with recent struggles, feel like Muñoz's role is stronger. Wait as long as you can to make this move.

Thank you Brent.4x4 AL only. ROS grissom or butler {utl} castillo or bibee  mayer or torres taylor or dominguez bonus qustion. is munoz in real trouble?
Brent Hershey
12:16
Grissom / Bibee / Torres / Dominguez

Bonus: my hunch is no

Do you think the Brewers will call up one their young prospects soon?  Specifically focused on Williams and Lara, but any information on any of them would be helpful.
Brent Hershey
12:19
Dates like this are so tough to predict, as this often depends on MLB injuries or underperformance. If Frelick continues to struggle, could be an OF opening for one of them.
Jacob
12:21
Meant to add a second question before submitting my first: Do you think that either Sal Frelick or Adolis Garcia will turn their seasons around?  Thank you so much for your advice!
Brent Hershey
12:21
Think Adolis could be starting to do so; and his potential fantasy impact is greater. HR with a BA drag, but can be useful.

Top of the morning! The complexity of layers in trying to find the hitter that is about to break out are many. I want your opinion of Crews. He has reduced strikeouts and if you view his batted ball results he is crushing at a high velo and getting ball in air. That’s my novice review, just Atom Balls… what do you see? Thanks for the chat.
Brent Hershey
12:23
Those are all valid points. In addition, he has seemed to take well to  coaching when they sent him down and given his pedigree, I think they have him up for good. Would not surprise me for him to have a very good rest of the season.

Is Goldschmidt an every day player until Judge is back?
Brent Hershey
12:25
He's pretty much been that since the middle of May (sat in just 2 games since 5/16), couple weeks before Judge got pulled form the lineup. So ... yes!

12:26
Good morning, Brent.  12-team redraft where I am looking acquire Peralta or Gore.  Freddy has been WHIP kryptonite all yar long and Gore has been underwhelming.  Do you favor one of these guys in the second half?
Brent Hershey
12:26
I'd prefer Peralta; good chance he's a deadline mover and that likely would be to a contender.
Scott
12:27
Good day Brent! Thanks for doing these chats. My question, are there any real signs of improvement for Matt McLain or do you think he'll just be hot and (very) cold for the rest of the season as he has been up to this point?
Brent Hershey
12:27
My assumption is his performance is a roller coaster until he shows he can sustain it for long stretches.

12:28
I have Vargas at 3B & Abrams at SS in 12 team mix with OPS instead of BA. Riley has been alternating between UTIL & my bench. Should I trade Riley for Trea Turner & Bryce Miller?
Brent Hershey
12:28
Yes, like those pieces for Riley.

Standard 4x4 Roto.  AL Reliever Toss Up: ROS who you got -  G. Cleavinger or M. Strahm? (doesn't look like either are in line for SVs, so maybe both are easy drops?)
Brent Hershey
12:29
Strahm if I have to choose 1 ... but yeah, not sure either are that close to saves.

Thanks for these chats, Brent.

I am in 5th place in my 18-team 5x5 roto league (we start 14 hitters and 9 hitters with no IL).  I have been offered a joint package of Woo for Rasmussen and Burke and Pederson for Emerson.
As a devout HQ reader, I am always worried about health ratings. Rasmussen is pitching well but I worry about injury.  Burke is an important part of my rotation in a deep  league, so I do not know if Rasmussen and Burke equal Woo.
Pederson seems to regained his form and I can swap him against RHP with daily lineup changes, so I like that.

Questions: (1) is this the best we will see from Colt Emerson? (2) Would you hedge and sell high on Rasmussen and find a replacement arm on the wire?
Brent Hershey
12:35
1) No, but when the next step comes is the question. If this is a re-draft league, then I've no problem with this trade. If it's a keeper ... probably Woo's upside out ranked Emerson's slightly.

2) Yes, also always a bit leery of Rasmussen's health. I'd be open to moving him, but wouldn't think I HAVE to make that move. If he somehow stays healthy all year, you might be kicking yourself in October. Maybe.

Hi Brent. I'd like to find a way to roster newly SS-eligible McLain (as insurance for slumping Perdomo), in case his power surge is more than just a hot streak. Would you drop any of Mead, Antonacci, Josh Jung, Benge, or Bazzana for him? (12 team 5x5 OBP).
Brent Hershey
12:37
No -- all those players listed are more favorable than McLain. If you HAVE to, then. I guess Mead?
Rick
12:38
With Royce Lewis back up, should I be jumping back in for the umpteenth time or save myself the grief and move on. Dynasty not redraft.
Brent Hershey
12:38
Price is probably OK to have another look; wouldn't go out of my way to find out. But the leash would be short.

12:41
hi Brent, please a quick comment on the recent bullpen utilization of Lange and Beeter. Beeter seems to be reserved for the ninth or the heart of the order, and Lange is on a hot streak giving only once an er in his last 11 games, thank you
Brent Hershey
12:41
Lange prob better short-term save opps. Don't think he'll last in the closers role. History of walks will do him in. Beeter's usage is interesting, maybe slightly more long-term value there, but WSH doesn't seem like it needs to settle on one guy. Skills slightly better for me for Beeter.

AL ONLY, obp.  How are DGuzman's skills (no bhq notes)?
