Good day all ... sorry for the couple minutes lag here at the top; will make it up as necessary on the back end! Let's go!

Hi Brent,
In weekly points league where HR, SB, and RBI are a premium, I need to pick one of Drury, Blackmon, and T. Taylor (starting India at 2B over Drury). Drury seems to pick with Chuck on the road for 6 games? Tough to sit him after a nice week.
Brent Hershey
12:05
Would agree w/ Drury, yes.

10 team NL only CBS points league. Strider is near the top of BHQ's 2 start picks. Good, he's on my team. Bad, he's only RP eligible (4 GS, needs 5). Worse yet, my 2 RP slots have Hader & Jansen. Does it make sense to start Strider in one of the RP slots? And which CL to leave out for the week?
Brent Hershey
12:09
Seems like this would make sense, esp in a points league -- though I don't know the structure. BUT ... I'd be sure by going back through the season and pulling the weekly scores of Hader and Jansen. If a decent 2-start week outscores them in most cases (esp this one, where team context and skills are +++), then I'd have no problem sitting Hader or Jansen this week.

5x5 12 team AL only.  SB is logjam a trade will net me 5 points.  11th and 12th place teams have Merrifield and Margot.  ROS who's the better target.
Brent Hershey
12:12
Our SB ROS projections have Whit > Margot, but it's close. Whit's reduced pace, age a consideration. My hunch is that Margot will give you more other things (and could easily out-steal him, too). Think I'd go Manuel.

Hello & thanks for these! Question 1: Who are some names we should know - prospects soon to be called up who can make a difference on our teams? Question 2: will B Stott ever get his bat going- or should we give up on him?
Brent Hershey
12:16
1) Really tough to know w/o a context (your lg size, how many prospects are taken already, etc). Will say that most of the biggie names are up already, esp with Oneil Cruz and Riley Greene here recently. BHQ will have a mid-season Top 50 update here soon that could help you. 2) Normal growing pains for a rookie -- not sure he'll be super high impact at maturity, but solid regular type. If you're in a redraft, not sure I'd bet on him helping you this year. Learning curves at MLB are steep.

Hi Brent, thanks for the insights every week. In AL-only 5x5. Now that Riley Greene is up, do you see any other AL teams bringing up a top prospect in the AL in June or July? Which prospects are most likely on the horizon? Thanks.
Brent Hershey
12:17
See previous ... maybe Gunnar Henderson (BAL) later on; that one is not imminent, though. Huge strides forward this year on all reports; hope to see him myself live this week.

Hi Brent. Looks like I’m gonna lose Machado and possibly Yordan to the IL. Available replacements include Amed Rosario, Carlson, Kiriloff, and C.J. Abrams. How would you rank those guys in a 5X5 head-to-head league with OBP instead of AVG?  Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:19
Kirilloff, Carlson <gap> Rosario, Abrams. Think AK is best hitter and best lock for PT; some interesting things going on w/ Carlos recently.
Rich
12:20
Hi Brent. Further to my last question, Suwinski is also available. So please rank Rosario, Carlson, Suwinski, Kiriloff, Abrams in a 5X5 H2H league with OBP instead of AVG. Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:20
Obv I didn't read ahead, ha! I'd probably squeeze Suwinski (AKA "coverboy" this week) between Carlson and Rosario.
Dan
12:22
With Machado's injury, do we see Abrams called up?  And is his turnaround legit or just a byproduct of his playing environment?
Brent Hershey
12:22
Yes, that seems like the natural move; word was he's on his way to SD. Still a bit skeptical in a 'you have to prove it against MLB pitching' way ... but on the other hand, he did what he needed to do at Triple-A, also. Depending on your situation, worth a spec, as the plus hit tool/speed combo is interesting, even though he looked super overmatched in April.

Hi Brent,
I need to cut 2 guys in a points league where HR, SB, and RBI are key. Are Taylor and Arcia the best overall upside guys? Berti seems appealing as well.
KEEP: T. Taylor and O. Arcia. CUT: J. Berti > T. Larnach > E. Duran > F. Meija > H. Kim > B. Scott > L. Diaz
Brent Hershey
12:26
(Not 100% clear here, but am going to pick 2 guys out of the cut list). Stott and L. Diaz. Also think I'd have Berti and maybe even Larnach of Arcia at this point. Realize some good things going on w/ Arcia, and maybe Berti's SB-heavy profile isn't as valuable in this format, though.

kikuchi once again gets lit, am i missing something? did seattle know something?did toronto screw up... from all star to worst exit velo of any sp in majors.got him at $3 traded for him actually, in 4x4 AL only keeper league . HELP!!! as always thank you!
Brent Hershey
12:27
Yeah, he's a streaming option for me, and not even sure one I'd keep on the bench. Will continue to tease us every once in a while. Wouldn't consider him a keeper option at this point, even at that price.

Needs a fifth starter, 5x5 deep league.  Please rank Brieske, Dunning, Civale, Kikuchi.  Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:29
Dunning is first easily for me, both short and long-term. I know the most recent outing was not good, but in a deep league he's a decent option. Then Brieske by a hair ... and probably Kikuchi by a touch over Civale? Deep league fun, for sure.

Pick 1 SP for this week: Sonny Gray vs CLE or Alex Cobb vs CIN?
Brent Hershey
12:33
Wow, both prime choices via our Matchups ratings; Gray a slice ahead. Both at home; could see Cobb as better given that CLE offense is on a roll. Eh .... tossup, but I'm going Gray if I have to make the choice.

Any update on Manny Machado? I'm in a weekly lineup league. Any hope for Trevor Rogers?????
Brent Hershey
12:36
No inside info from Manny's team doctor, sorry. But I'm sitting him this week; highly doubt he'll play given that video. I'm picking my spots with Rogers, and benching him a bunch. Including a two-step vs. the Mets this week. You mileage may vary, though; I just still hang on to what we saw last year and for now am hoping to nurse him through this rough stretch.

Hi Brent, thanks for your time. I've been stashing catchers in a 12-team H2H points league and need to decide who to keep for ROS. Options are d'Arnaud, Garver, Jansen, and Bethancourt (available on the WW). Appreciate any guidance!
Brent Hershey
12:38
I still believe in Jansen, so sounds like you have the room and I'd hold him for sure. And I'd ride Bethancourt for now. Dunno if you need 1 or 2 active, but d'Arnaud>Garver for me right now.

Hi Brent. Hearing any new on Yonder Alvarez hand injury? Have to set line ups by 1 PM. thanks
Brent Hershey
12:40
No inside info from Yordan's team doctor, sorry. I'm playing him this week, but don't have another good option. Really depends on your needs and risk tolerance.

NL 5x5.  Who do you prefer as  5th OF - Albert Almora or Garrett Hampson?
Brent Hershey
12:44
Wow ... our ROS projections for these two are almost spot on the same. AA has made huge contact gains, but I think I'd still slightly lean Hampson in this case. Trust his PT more, broader skill set (SB).

12:46
there was interesting article floating about Trevor Rogers missing his release point. Any chance he turns around soon?
Brent Hershey
12:46
As I stated above, I think it's possible and it's the reason I'm hanging on to him where it makes sense. Also watching the action on his change-up -- which could well be related the above. Of course, he's on a couple important rosters of mine, also ... :-)

i see noelvi marte struggling.. buy target?
Brent Hershey
12:47
Yes, I think so. Plenty of time to go through a rough patch and fix it. Still several years away.

Speculating on the contact and eye gains in Austin Meadows profile. Small sample obviously, might even be a new approach thats sapping costing him power, but news or noise? Wasnt long ago that he looked like a future star.
Brent Hershey
12:52
I'd be more interested if his Statcast metrics (exit velo, barrels, etc) were ticking up, but they've gone backwards. The more contact thing is huge, though and definitely addressing a flaw of his (heavy swing/miss). I'm interested, but only mildly -- IE, wouldn't give up a lot. Don't see the "future star" as we did before.

Hi Brent, my offense has underperformed quite a bit this year, with Max Muncy being by far the biggest disappointment. How likely is it that he’ll turn it around? Also, could you rank the following: J. Lowe, Luplow, Raleigh, E. Rivera? 16 team H2H category league, 32-man rosters (with keepers). Thanks!
