Hopefully you have enough looks and other input to balance it out.

Why not ties after 10-11 innings? Not in the postseason of course.
Kevin Goldstein
11:38
Because ties are dreadful.

11:39
Do you think the Astros took sign stealing the furthest of all the teams?
Kevin Goldstein
11:39
I do.
Colb
11:39
Who in the AL do you see knocking off the Rays in a series?
Kevin Goldstein
11:40
Either the AL WC winner, or their ALCS opponent, or the team that plays them in the World Series. It's the playoffs, and anybody acting like they know what's going to happen is lying to you.

Is Cristian Javier still seen as a starter long term?
Kevin Goldstein
11:40
He SHOULD be.

Helpful tip of the day: don’t ever break your toe. It really effing hurts.
Kevin Goldstein
11:41
It really does. I have a great story about my wife breaking her toe in the team hotel in Detroit while I was there to see Nick Plummer.

Odds Manny Machado gets traded.
Kevin Goldstein
11:42
Exceptionally low.
Mariners
11:42
Has your opinion on Julio Rodriguez changed this year? Up, down, same?
Kevin Goldstein
11:42
Same, but I was very high on him to begin things so there wasn't a lot of room up.
Zirinsky
11:43
Could you sum up “how the Rays do it” in a sentence or two?
Kevin Goldstein
11:43
No. Not in a sentence or two.

Do you see anything in Cody Bellinger that you think is causing his abysmal run as of the past 2 seasons?
Kevin Goldstein
11:44
I'm not convinced he's fully healthy. He just absolutely can not get to velocity.

Speaking of bad teams having trouble signing marquee FAs, I remember hearing vague rumors years ago that the Astros made a serious run at Tanaka when he came over, with some claiming y'all made him the biggest offer. I always found that hard to believe with the team coming off of a 111 loss season. Any true are the rumors?
Kevin Goldstein
11:44
I don't know if it was the biggest offer, but it was a good one.

Juan Soto - worth a half billion extension?
Kevin Goldstein
11:45
Around there...

Isn't every GM and manager job highly desirable?  There's only 30 positions in the whole world...
Kevin Goldstein
11:45
You said it.

How common is it for front office executives to not be fans of baseball, or at least indifferent to it?
Kevin Goldstein
11:46
I can't think of any. Certainly some people in R&D or accounting and stuff, but not in baseball ops.
Zirinsky
11:46
Kevin: what’s your thinking on moving on from Gleyber Torres (I get the Sanchez thinking)?
Kevin Goldstein
11:46
Just that he's not a SS and DLM is under contract.

Should Montoyo be brought back for another season? As a Jays fan I havent been thrilled with his decision making the past two seasons.
Kevin Goldstein
11:46
I think he's a good manager.

Speculation (loaded word, I know) is Springer wanted to go to DET because of Hinch but they weren’t spending yet. Can Hinch be that much of a factor for former players to want to go to DET?
Kevin Goldstein
11:46
Yes.

When does the CBA expire? How is Fangraphs doing with memberships, economically, etc and would a protracted labor dispute be detrimental? How can we help?
Kevin Goldstein
11:47
The current CBA expires on December 1. There will still be PLENTY of baseball below the big league level to write about, and plenty of labor talk as well. Maybe I'll do some sumo content as well.

So in regards to relocation when did mlb give clubs veto over relocation? Did sf have a veto over  Oakland? Baltimore over Washington? Cubs over Milwaukee?
Kevin Goldstein
11:48
They have veto power when it comes to moving INTO a team's area (like the previous question re: Brooklyn), but not out.
Back in two minutes, going to get my iced coffee.
11:50
See, that wasn't so bad.
Before I get back into it. . . .
