I don't think so. Like I can watch a young gun getting to the top level like Hoshoryu and I can see this kid might be really good down the road, but no way I could do it on a real level.

It's my fault. The Rays constantly confound me. I never think they're going to be as good as they are, and they always prove me wrong.

So when word gets to a team about an offseason injury like Tatis, does the front office immediately start an investigation into how it happened?  Or do they generally take the player at his word and just tally it to bad luck?

Nah. It would matter if they were looking to compete right away, but that doesn't seem like the case.
