I hope you weren't the guy with the bad mustache trying to get with my girl on the 3rd floor at Medusa's
Kevin Goldstein
1:04
I was at Medusa's but I did not have a mustache.

Which front office do you think is underrated?
Kevin Goldstein
1:05
Probably the Yankees. I think it's easy to just say they have all the money (and it certainly helps), but they're also very good at the baseball part.
Jeff
1:05
Will FanGraphs ever dive into football? I’m sick of Collinsworth’s PFF, literally no one has any idea how they come up with anything
Kevin Goldstein
1:05
Maybe! I just know they won't want me to be a part of it.

MLB.com has the Rangers taking Lawlar with the no. 2 pick. Is this an indictment of the pitching player development to not pick the leftover of Leiter/Rocker or more about Lawlar just being that good?
Kevin Goldstein
1:06
He's that good.
Danny
1:06
Is Yermin Mercedes passable at any position or is he a DH forever?
Kevin Goldstein
1:06
His best glove is his batting glove(s).

James Fegan when previously talking about Tim Anderson thought there was some type of metric or system we haven't figured out yet to explain Tim Anderson out performing all expected metrics. Do you agree or think it's just a rabbit's BABIP foot
Kevin Goldstein
1:07
I do think there are players capable of exceeding in BABIP.

I have seen you say you think Yuli Gurriel would have had a chance at the HOF if he played his career in MLB. Dave Cameron thought he was the worst starter on the Astros when he would write for this site. Why the gap?
Kevin Goldstein
1:08
People are different and see things differently and diversity of thought is a good thing.

Last week you mentioned the Braves being at the forefront of technology, was that before or after the FO change? Or did it stay the same?
Kevin Goldstein
1:09
They've taken huge steps forward under AA.

Weirdest movie you consider great?

Hausu (House).

What is your take on teams shifting against RHH? Many analysts seems puzzled why teams keep on doing it outside extremes.
Kevin Goldstein
1:11
They wouldn't do it if the data told them not to. Right now, the data tells them to do so.

What’s the general Front Office / baseball opinion on Tony Clark? It seems kind of mixed by the fans & media, but never enough to call for a change
Kevin Goldstein
1:12
General feeling is that the union botched the last CBA and that helped create the current gap. Other thought here is that we have labor problems when an ex-player is in charge.
Keith
1:12
How would you line up Madden, Hoglund and Bachman?
Kevin Goldstein
1:13
In that order.

SS speculation question: does Seager sign with the dodgers this off-season? Hard to imagine LA doesn’t try to bring their WS MVP back, and it would be a bit weird for them to go after correa considering his status among the fan base. Giants would be an interesting place to land too
Kevin Goldstein
1:13
I do think they will make a significant attempt to keep him.

____ of the 30 MLB GM's didn't take a single day off last year.
Kevin Goldstein
1:15
I think we need to define "day off." If you mean ABSOLUTE day off, like never look at email or check their phone . . . it's close to 30.
Chris

When is kelenic and gilbert coming up?
Kevin Goldstein
1:16
I got a bunch of these, and I just want to say I don't work for the Mariners, nor has Jerry DiPoto called me to discuss. I don't know. I know you want to know, but nobody except the Mariners know.

Are the changes Odor is making on the Yankees legit?
Kevin Goldstein
1:17
Um . . . he's hitting 175/250/400 . . . have things really changed?

Someone dropped Dominic smith in my dynasty. Spent $9 faab to claim him. Is the improvements he took last year real? Thoughts on him?
Kevin Goldstein
1:17
I believe in the bat.

thoughts on the Oscars?
Kevin Goldstein

We watched Lodge 49 and my wife played some Animal Crossing last night.

What are your expectations for Bryan Abreu this year?
Kevin Goldstein
1:18
Frustrating reliever who strikes out the side one night and walks two and gives up a run or two the next...

Typically, you stretch/grow people by nudging them past their crutches. Be that 'this catcher/not THAT! catcher', MY! slot in the batting order, any other superstitions or entitlements that they have. Particularly if you want them to perform in high pressure situations, when by definition they are inherently out of their normal comfort zone. Slowly start getting used to that now, Dude.
Kevin Goldstein
1:19
Disagree.
