wouldn't say those are necessarily the top 4, but they've all moved up
Chris Reitsma

Hey Kiley, thanks for doing these. Bruce Zimmermann has been lights out since signing with the Braves in 2017. What sort of profile does he have? He seems like a classic senior sign/soft-tossing lefty who will start to struggle as he faces more advanced hitting, but is there anything more in there? Hard to find much info on him.
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:25
More average stuff than soft tosser, so there's a shot, but will really need to perform
Billy Beane
2:25
When I am thinking about a low level guy who is more or less a toolshed (I'm thinking Austin Beck or Lazarito) does it become more appropriate to scout the stat line?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:26
To a degree. I mean Beck is making progress if he's got a non-BABIP inflated 100 or higher wRC+ but it could still be, at the low levels, a toned-down contact swing or just sitting on mistake pitches, etc.

How would you compare Matt Liberatore to Hunter Barco?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:27
Barco is the top prep pitcher for 2019 and they're along the same lines. Barco has buzz to go top 10 next year and I'll probably see him a few times this summer since he's just a few hours from me

Eric said yesterday he'd mock Swaggerty at 2 today. Assuming you've heard the same, is that a reflection on Swaggerty's reputation in the scouting community improving or just that the Giants like him more than most?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:28
I mean he was hitting poorly when I saw him and a little after that, while he's now hitting better, so I guess he's seen a little more positively, but teams are still largely having trouble clearly saying which of those three (and some toss Bart in that group) that they prefer, so it isn't a wild swing, more than we've heard SF prefers him over Bohm (and we already reported they won't take Madrigal).

I know the statcast data pegs Albies as significantly over performing, but maybe he's just a freaking stud? What is your scouting opinion on this?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:29
I mean I've been leading the Albies bandwagon from the start but *whispers*  he's probably not a 156 wRC+ true talent hitter
2:30
(Altuve has arguably the best player in baseball last year with a similar skillset and a 160 wRC+)
I'd set my sights slightly lower than that
Andrew
2:30
Ozzie Albies just homered. Acuña and Albies combined are younger than Ichiro, and both have homered today.
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:31
Albies, Acuna and Scout are the spirit animals of my chats
Gregory
2:31
Baltimore has a trio of starters that have thrown good outings (Lowther, Bishop, and Baumann). Who’s got the best chance at a fast track.
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:31
I would lean Lowther because he's lefty and it's deceptive and he's always performed

Mr Kiley oh honored chatter! oh wisest of prospect knowledge! Please enlighten thou! Who sticks in a future White Sox rotation? Hansen, Cease, Dunning??
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:31
Dunning by far the most likely for me
Marc
2:32
What do you make of the Yankees infield in a month? Drury, Andujar, Torres, Walker, Austin, Bird for 3 spots, with Torreyes arguably deserving regular at-bats as well?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:32
Austin can platoon with some lefties like Bird, Drury is the utility guy. As mentioned above, too many good players is not a problem.
Hunter
2:32
What do you get at Chick Fil A?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:33
suspiciously positive cashiers
moose
2:33
any common denominators between guys that find more power when they hit the majors?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:33
bat control, athleticism, opposite field extra base hits at a young age
Michael
2:33
Kind of a strange q but here goes...your colleague yesterday said the yankees are by far the best at developing Ps.  Accepting that not all orgs are equal, shoudn't amateurs have the right to choose their development and not have it mandated by which team drafts you?  Seems analogous to choosing your college not having it chosen for you.
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:34
Sure but at some point the yankees run out of spots and money and the mets have no players and a bunch of money sooooo
Bryan Daniel Carter
2:34
How hard would a player have to throw for you to draft him based soley on arm strength?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:35
Sits 103-106, touches 110
Mr Bean
2:35
You said in the MLB Draft Prospects comment section that Kowar has two 60s. What are they?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:35
FB and CH
Quadrangular
2:35
can you share an Acuña story from your time with the Braves?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:38
I was seeing him in Low-A when he was fresh off the DL at the end of the season and a pro scout from another team was asking me a bunch of questions about him out of nowhere when he found out I was with the Braves and I was like seems like you like him and he's like oh yeah (whispers) I think he's the best guy on the team and I said yeah we knew that last year that's why you aren't gonna get him
Dustin
2:38
If Joey Wentz carries the solid performance he's shown so far in A and A+ into AA later this year/next year where do you project him out as a major leaguer?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:39
Heard his velo has been up a few ticks this spring, planning to get out and see him soon. Could move quickly because the command was there last year
Adam
2:39
AJ Preller’s done a great job of rebuilding the Padres farm system, but has he been competent enough constructing his major league rosters during the last few years for Padres fans to have faith in his leadership next time the team has a chance to be successful?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:39
It's a fair question, don't think we really know the answer. Very few GMs are well above average at both.
Adam
2:40
Can you tell me a little about Lenny Torres Jr and the round he’s projected to go in?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
2:40
Sounds like he's creeping from comp round into the 1st round. up to 98 mph, flashes a plus hook, some reliever risk

What are your thoughts on Greyson Jenista? Do you see him becoming a 20-25 home run guy?
