Some BP prospect writers seem to be down on Dom Smith (relative to others) because the hit tool is hard to evaluate. I guess my question is: is the hit tool hard to evaluate?

The hit tool is hard to evaluate. Smith's hit tool is not hard to evaluate. You won't find many scouts, if any, who question his ability to hit. He's been showing it since he was 16.
