Reply: The selection for LEAP 2018 has been closed, but next year there will be a new selection round, for LEAP 2019. Apart from selection by the Head of Departments, there is also a possibility to apply for the program. Make sure you stay up to date by checking out the people newsletters!

(Part 1/2) Group Sharing of What one can do to overcome bias and the bias of your colleagues within Lazada:

• Remove race, gender, age, photo, martial status in CVs leaving only experience and abilities of candidate

• During Hiring process - positive bias of passion and drive - have more interviewers in the panel before making the hiring decision

• Negative bias of being slower colleagues - managers to provide proper guidelines of directions and deadline of tasks - matching the speed of team member with a more suitable role with her/his speed

(Part 2/2) Group Sharing of What one can do to overcome bias and the bias of your colleagues within Lazada:

• First impression - provide a feedback to hear them out about themselves. Also ask for feedback of what candidate think about us

• Do we look for difference or similarity first? Get candidate to list down ideas and going point by point without judging their voice/presentation

• Bias between functions - cross function sharing and bonding or rotational programs

• Acknowledgement of bias - using test scores to stay objective; if still uncertain seek a 2nd opinion

• Use predefined measurable matrix for the suitability of candidate(s)
