Abhijeet asks, "The first thing that comes to my mind about community is about the diversity of ideas and people. While practicing social journalism we are the negotiators. Take the example of journalists in Kashmir and the Middle East. How do we negotiate where laws are stringent?"

Jarvis says, "It is hard to name a country that has more diversity than India. My hope is that India can present a model to all the other countries. Because that's where the problems arise. We need to grapple with building a good society.
It is frightening to see how government is trying to shut down internet and in turn peoples voices. Reporters Without Borders and other organizations who cover such issues deserve the support."
"In Kashmir, Turkey, Venezuela we need to stand with them and help amplify their voices," he adds.

Maneesh asks Jarvis: "We spoke about internally and externally focused journalism. Do you think we have to work in tandem with both, or should we decide which one we need to focus on?"
Jarvis responds: "It's both." Jarvis highlights how worrying about the internal and educating the communities matter. "We need to figure what is our role as a journalist," he adds.

Jarvis tells ACJ students: "I'm glad to have interacted with you. Every single one of your questions was great. I hope to stay in touch with you and I hope to see the journalism you make."
