the damn pitches move completely different!

Any early concerns with Gleyber Torres or Jesus Luzardo?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:20
Nah, not yet - feels like just some April issues
riegs
11:21
Would you trust MacKenzie Gore vs. Houston this Friday?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:22
I'd get the hesitation in 12-teamers and below but I'd probably still run him out. I have him on three 15-teamers and started him in all.

I'm struggling to cover catcher with Murphy out, who would you go between Garver, I Herrera, Langeliers, K Ruiz, or a different widely available catcher? Or just try to stream catchers until Murphy is back?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:23
I'd go with Herrera until either he (or his playing time) slows down. If (or when) that happens, just stream until Murphy gets back.
Reid Detmers
11:24
So is this new version of Detmers here to stay or is he due a Patrick Sandoval like regression?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:24
Here to stay, baby! This is the breakout we were promised.
also, I'm sorry I was a year early on him last season.

11:25
How would you rank Busch, Conforto, M Chapman, Westburg and Ty France?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:26
Great options, hard to rank. bu-uut:
11:27
Chapman > France > Westburg > Busch > Conforto
11:28
Holding Ozuna but would sell Conforto if you can get something useful.
riegs
11:28
Would you try to sell high on any of O'Neill, Conforto, Ozuna or J Hicks?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:28
Holding Ozuna but would sell Conforto if you can get something useful.
As a Cardinals fan, it's hard for me to even think about O'Neill and Hicks, so thanks for the trauma lol
11:29
The only reason to sell high on them is for injury concerns. I'd probably move Hicks but would eat it on O'Neill. If he gets hurt, he gets hurt but I'd go down with the ship

11:30
Which closer would you be most willing to part with - Ryan Helsley, Raisel Iglesias, Craig Kimbrel, or Clay Holmes?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:31
Ehh, Helsley.
I think he'll wind up with the fewest opps out of the group
predicting pitcher injuries
11:31
Are you aware of any baseball stat-head who has tried to model and predict elbow or shoulder injuries with pitchers?  Asking for my team with Bieber, McClanahan and Alcantara all injured.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:31
Brutal
11:32
can't think of any particular researcher off the top of my head but have seen a number of guys try and tackle it with not a ton of luck
11:33
However, Ockham's razor seems to cut towards the more pitches you through over 97 mph, the louder the clock tends to tick.
Dano
11:48
Would you start Edward Cabrera today vs. the Giants?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:48
I'd be comfortable if not having any one more reasonable to swap in. I rarely love starting guys right off the IL but SF has been so mid vs RHP that I'd take the chance.

11:53
Is Paul Goldschmidt toast?  1 HR, no other XBH, 19 Ks in 57 ABs.  Just a slow start or is he at the edge of the cliff?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:54
I don't think it's a cliff cliff but the days of top-5 1B might have come and gone. Especially given how deep the position is these days
catcher
12:02
What are you thoughts on Iván Herrera? Is he going to get enough at bats with Contreras back to keep him rostered? I lost Sean Murphy early on and have been struggling to find catching at bats in an nl-only league
Nicklaus Gaut
12:02
He should keep getting enough ABs. Marmol said a couple of days ago that they're going to continue getting him regular reps even once Willson is back and I believe him - for now
In NL-only, I think he's probably your best option by far
12:03
Alright, y'all - gonna wrap it for today
Thanks to everyone for all the questions and I'll be back next week; same time, same place
Until then you can hit me up on Twitter @Nt_BurtReynolds
Thanks!
