The Trade Deadline is coming up and the Brewers continue to lead the central and need starting pitching. Civale has been iffy since acquiring, Dallas Keuchel didn’t work out — they need somebody that is going to be consistently reliable. I’ve seen a lot around the Brewers possibly going after Flaherty or Crochet. Do you think this could happen and what pieces do you think they’d need to give up to acquire one of these guys?

Don't think they'll have the ammo to get Crochet, given what I expect will be rabid interest from the big guys
Flaherty is much more realistic, and possible - they've got enough to get him and will need someone of his quality if they have actual championship aspirations, and not just divisional ones

  1. Winker? What's the rumor mill say about him?
  2. Bellinger? Isn't his contract too trouble-laden to move and will he be overlooked due to his DL stint?
  3. What in the world will the Pirates do? With one or two competent OF guys, they might make the post season. Suwisnski seems done. Is he? Taylor is only good for late inning defense. What will the team do?

  1. Winker is as good as gone - ATL and SEA seem like the best bets/fits
  2. I'm with you:  contract + injury risk doesn't equal what fit well with what most contenders want
  3. They'll sell - anything not named Skenes or Jones. But it would take a ton to get Reynolds/Cruz
