Morning, y'all
11:01
It's the first day of the new season in Pokemon Go, so you know it's time to chat about just how much the PvP meta will be shook up!
Oh wait, wrong chat..
11:02
*insert hilarious joke* I don't actually do a Pokemon chat
But also, me and Salazzle will smoke you for dinner
*end shenanigans*

How do you think the pirates will handle Paul Skenes workload throughout the fantasy playoffs?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:03
The Pirates can bluster all they want but that clock is ti-cking
11:04
He's at 136 IP right now, after 123 in college last year. Considering that's already a 20% bump, I have to imagine the Pirates will be looking for any reason to pump the brakes

What’s your favorite playoff strategy for daily points leagues?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:05
Micromanaging
In a daily league, try not to concede a zero at any position, on any day
11:06
Granted, you can't go so willy-nilly if  there's a strikeout penalty on hitters but should should aim for being fully stuffed every day
11:07
Don't be afraid to sit a starter in a tough matchup, especially if your scoring really punishes a bad outing (lots of -'s for ER, H, and BB)

It sounds like ronel blanco is moving to the bullpen soon. I’m in a daily pts league that rewards holds and has a pitcher start limit. Do you see blanco being a good guy to hold onto considering he can slot in as a SP and might pitch multiple innings while not hurting against my pitcher start limit?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:07
100%!
This is the way
11:09
Someday I'll tell about the championships that me and Ryan "the cheatcode" Yarbrough won via the same method. Absolute killer when you're dealing with a start limit

What's your sense about these players who were once good, but have since faded into obscurity because of performance or injury. Will they be given another chance?: Esteury Ruiz, Vaughn Grissom, Alex Kirilloff, Samad Taylor, Oscar Colas.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:10
Ruiz and Vaughn, yes. Those type of tool sheds tend to get chances until they've proven beyond a shadow that they stink
No for the other three
god I used to love Kirilloff so much

I have Triston Casas, dansby Swanson, and Dylan crews on my bench and need to free space.  Which guy are you dropping?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:12
Dropping Casas unless you're mostly desperate for power
Loftin
11:12
Is Nick Loftin (KC) doomed to be a little-used utilityman, or is there still hope for him as a prospect?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:14
I still have some hope for his fantasy value considering the bat skills and discipline. But it's a compiler-profile and they need piles of PAs to be relevant. And I'm not sure those are coming anytime soon give the Royals current roster

Which 3 players would you keep out of Carroll, Lindor, Skenes, strider, crochet, and snell. Thanks! (Daily pts league)
Nicklaus Gaut
11:15
Skenes, Strider, Lindor
Kirt
11:16
Please rank the rookie Jacksons    going forward.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:17
Chourio > Merrill > Holliday
But Chourio/Merrill is basically a toss-up for me
Rookies
11:18
Zach Dezenzo, Dominic Fletcher, Justyn Henry Malloy, Jonatan Clase, and yes, even Nolan Schanuel—all rookies—haven't exactly made their presence felt this year. Will they ever have be more than waiver-wire fill-ins?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:19
This year, no. And next year...also, mostly no
11:20
I do like Schanuel (especially in point leagues) but a power-light 1B has a narrow path to consistent fantasy value, especially on a team like the Angels
Yes, I'm still asking about Andrew Vaughn
11:22
Two old guys looking better lately and two young guys looking worse lately. Could you rank Mullins, Springer, Langford, and Andrew Vaughn ROS? OBP league.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:22
how dare you
Mullins > Langford > Springer > Vaughn
11:23
I take it back - love me some questions where I get to rank him last

Is Yepez a building block for the Nats? Will he be their 1b/DH next year or is he just there for "now"?
