While I do have a soft-spot for the former Cardinal, I see him more of a bridge for them until something better is available
11:25
great bench asset but the light power makes it hard to find a good fit given the rest of his skillset/defensive capabilities
The Bido Goes On
11:26
In a deep starts-capped league, curious if it's worth keeping Rassmussen for his high-K RP appearances or if he's a cut for Bido, maybe with some sits on tough matchups?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:26
Depends on your categorical needs but in a vacuum I lean Rasmussen.

Who are a few available players that could be worth a pickup down the stretch?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:28
Using 40% on Yahoo as the cutoff:
11:29
Bleday, A. Wells, Robles, Arcia, Wagner
Hold up - dog needs in

Should J Lopez be waived since it looks like he will NOT be the closer for the ROS?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:32
I'm not sure its completey cut-and-dry that's he won't get more shots but he's clearly not going to be "the guy" for the stretch imo
safe to drop as needed, unless you're SV desperate
Is that blood?
11:33
Worried about these Red Sox pitchers. Should I cut any of Houck, Kutter, Pivetta for an A like Bido or Spence? Or just sit the Sox for the tougher matchups? (deep league)
Nicklaus Gaut
11:33
Gotta hold, me thinks. Schedule's been tough but it's not too onerous down the stretch
11:34
But next week is bru-tal (vs BAL, @ NYY)

In an IL bind for playoffs (Hunter Greene, deGrom, Gil...) and need points from a new SP.  Oswaldo Bido or Cade Povich? I can carry both...
Nicklaus Gaut
11:36
So, I like Bido more overall but I'd hold both right now just because they both have good matchups in their next turn
11:38
Bido vs DET is great and while BOS is scarier overall for Povich, they've really struggled vs LHP, especially in their whifferey
deMize
11:38
Any hope for Mize becoming useful ROS? Is he a keep at $4 in AL only?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:39
Well, he gets COL in DET next week so that alone might be worth keeping him around
11:40
for ROS, anyway. Even at just $4, he'd need to finish pretty strong to be keeper-worthy

Do you think Houston will move Alvarez to 1st base next year?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:40
It's a crime against humanity not too
Should've already happened a long time ago
11:41
But hey, let's keep trotting out an elite hitter but with bad knees and a frying pan glove

12 player League, 26 Man Keeper roster. Pick one or two fringe candidates from Bobby Miller, Cade Povich, JP Sears, Jairo Iriarte or Christian Scott!
Nicklaus Gaut
11:42
Still believe in Povich long-term
11:43
And really like Scott (in a healthy-elbow vacuum)

Have to choose between Pfaat and Arrighetti for resign next year.  Thinking the latter has more upside?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:44
For sure...Give me Arrabiata all day
11:45
I know it's Arrighetti but everytime I hear his name I hear one of my very old (and very Italian) bosses telling me how much he loves Arrabiata
buffy, the umpire slayer
11:45
Are ROS numbers pretty much worthless with just 4 weeks to go in the season? It seems the last 20-40 days are more valuable in these end-of-year decisions.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:45
100%
11:46
ROS projections this time of year can give you a ballpark of expectations but so much right now is dependent on changes in playing time/batting order/etc that haven't necessarily been captured
11:47
I go on gut, recency bias, and schedule this time of year more than any other time
All in the Phamily
11:48
Tommy Pham is leading off for the Royals. Do you like him over fellow old-man leader-offer Springer? OBP League.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:48
Rather have Tommy right now
But to be fair, it's hard for me to ever say something bad about Pham as long as he lives within driving range
You just never know what might get back to him
Deyvison De Los Santos
11:49
For reasons beyond my comprehension the Marlins haven't called Deyvison De Los Santos - who I've been stashing for weeks now - to the show to provide any data on his ability to hit MLB pitchers.  Now I have a keeper decision this off-season.  How do you project him as an MLB hitter going forward (HR, RBI, Runs, OBP)?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:49
Still keeping him
