Outside of the ultimate result, what was your favorite memory from the World Series?
Jason Kipnis
11:02
Scoring from 2nd, Rajai’s homerun, hitting a HR at Wrigley.

Hey Jason! We played against each other in High School and I’ll never forget the day when you came to Lake Forest High School and hit two bombs against us to dead center. Do you have any special memories from that final season during your senior year?
Jason Kipnis
11:03
I actually remember that game all the time. I think my high school gf and I had just broken up ha

Bigger bases this year, thoughts? Thank you !
Jason Kipnis
11:04
People will get used to them faster than you think, they’re not a big deal.

Jason, back in game seven of the '16 World Series, it is well documented of how during the late rain delay Jason Heyward called a players only meeting and basically got his team breathing fire. I have wondered what it was like in the  Indians dugout at the same time? thanks
Jason Kipnis

You only hear the stories of the winning side. We were just as ready to go too, guys were staying loose and hitting in the cages.

Love that you keep going on Cleveland's broadcasts. Do you still own a restaurant in Ohio? I heard you're opening one in Florida is that correct? Great hearing from you.
Jason Kipnis

I’m part of the Welcome to the Farm bar and FwD in Cleveland! Seesaw is my restaurant/bar in Columbus and I’m most excited for the one that’s coming in Wynwood, Miami by the end of this year!!

Jason, thanks for the many great memories you gave us Cleveland fans. One of those memories is the split second when I thought Cleveland won the WS Game 7 before the ball you hit went foul. It looked like it was a good pitch to hit and you just got out in front of it. What did you experience on that pitch?
Jason Kipnis
11:11
It was a good pitch to hit, just a tick out in front. People keep saying Chapman was gassed, but the guy was still throwing 98+, tough keep weight back on slider and still catch up to that.  So I started to sit fastball but he threw like 5 sliders in a row.

Thanks for the chat. Do teams cheat or was it just the Astros?
Jason Kipnis
11:11
Teams try to find advantages all the time to win.   That was more than trying to find an advantage what they did though.

In your personal life, Wikipedia says you're both Catholic and Jewish. How does that work? Do you identify more with Hank Greenberg or Mike Piazza? Where did the Kipnis family immigrate from? Just curious. The diversity of baseball is wonderful.
Jason Kipnis
11:13
Father is Jewish, mother is Catholic. Was raised catholic but religion isn’t a big part of my life anymore.

Kip! I’m sure you really wanted to find a landing spot to hit 10 years of service time - how close were you to making that happen?
Jason Kipnis
11:14
Think I needed 2 months? =( … still got my gold card and they started to prorate pension so no complaints here. Can get those two months down the road coaching or something.

What do you hope to be remembered for when people look back at your career in MLB?
Jason Kipnis
11:15
Someone who gave it their all. A great teammate and played the game like a fan would.

Any favorite memories of the minor leagues?
Jason Kipnis
11:16
Can’t type them on here haha… or anywhere for that matter…

Do you think it's true there's no such thing as clutch hitters in the majors? Odds are the same no matter how much pressure, or are some hitters better at coming through with the big hit?
Jason Kipnis
11:18
Not sure where you heard there aren’t! Some hitters become hyper focused in what they’re trying to do at the plate in crunch time.
Cubs

The Cubs play the Guardians in the W.S., who do you root for?
Jason Kipnis
11:18
Guardians.

If Sean Wallis practiced more and lifted harder, would he have a chance at the big leagues?
Jason Kipnis
11:21
Still not talented enough. A shame cause I hear he’s a nice guy…

As a glove first SS that gets moved around a lot but I don’t seem to get much time to work on my hitting, any advice on how to balance that and keep improving without sacrificing my fielding?
Jason Kipnis
11:24
Make the time. No one’s gonna find it for you. Stay after if needed.

Do people talk trash about you in every visiting city? What are some things they say?
Jason Kipnis
11:25
“Hey Kip! You’re so strong and handsome”… they really know how to cut to the core of me.. some people are just the worst.

Are you an autograph guy? Do fans ask for your autograph a lot even now?
Jason Kipnis
11:26
always love signing… collected when I was a young kid and even during my career! Have bats or jerseys signed by all my favorites I got to play against.

How much does ballpark factor influence free agents' decisions? (ex: pitchers avoiding Coors, hitters avoiding Oakland)
Jason Kipnis
11:28
Definitely impacts decisions. Just have to weigh whether it’s worth the money vs the opportunity
