A Giants' fan! I knew that there was a reason I liked you. But how did a so Cal kid grow up a Giants' fan?

My dad hated the Dodgers so it kind of rubbed off on us.

What was your favorite pitch to throw, and why?
AvatarChad Cordero
4:13
Had to be my 89mph fastball cuz I literally threw it about 99% of the time.  My other pitches were very average

for sure.  St Louis fans were always great and very knowledgeable.  I loved talking to them in the bullpen during games

How much do you think travel ball and kids playing baseball year-round is part of the reason for so many Tommy John surgeries these days?
AvatarChad Cordero

Personally it's because too many kids are focusing too much on one sport too early.  I see too many kids only playing one sport.  Kids should be able to play other sports because in my eyes you won't get burnt out and you'll be more athletic.  Also, there's too many coaches who only care about those $2 rings they win each tournament so they let kids throw kids throw back to back games where they throw over 100 pitches in each on.

YO CHAD... what's on your playlist? What did you use for your walk-up/entrance music?
AvatarChad Cordero
4:21
Depends on my mood for the day.  I can go from listening to the Misfits to Snoop or even Sade.  I believe my entrance was King Nothing by Metallica

How do you stay calm cool and collected in the 9th inning
AvatarChad Cordero

I was always singing to myself in my head, seems crazy but it allowed me to overthink

Thoughts on rays possible going to Montreal?
AvatarChad Cordero

Whether its the Rays or an expansion team but I hope Montreal gets a team again.  Its too great of a city to not have one.

Hey Chad. Thanks for joining for today’s chat. Can you talk about the uncertainty surrounding the Expos in 04 as the team prepared to move to Washington, DC? As a rookie, do you feel the talk about the Expos moving affect you and your performance?
AvatarChad Cordero
4:24
It was tough because there was still rumors of the franchise being contracted so nobody was really sure what was gonna happen.  It didn't really bother me too much because I was enjoying being in the Major Leagues too much to think about it.

Hey Chad. You seem very passionate about helping kids develop. Would you ever consider taking a head coaching job at a university or high school if given the opportunity? Or do you prefer to roam around at your own freewill?
AvatarChad Cordero
4:26
I was asked this past season if I wanted to be the head coach at a high school and I turned it down because I hate dealing with parents.  I'd rather focus on working with the kids than dealing with complaints about random things that don't make sense
4:28
Thanks everyone for having me on here.  All of your questions were great and I apologize if I didn't get to yours.  Hopefully we do this again.  Happy Holidays everyone.
