what made you want to leave scouting?
Tim kissner
11:47
legit question-  the job has changed, as the game as changed.  After being a director, there are some jobs in baseball you just don't want to do.  It was time for a change-  I know what it's like to be a baseball scout-  now I know what it's like to be a police officer

Hi Tim, thanks for taking the time to do one of these. As a person who's interested in getting into scouting, are their any specific tips you'd recommend for getting your foot in the door?

be around the game.  So much available online today.  read, study, learn about analytics. Play the game if possible, or coach.  Just really depends on your background

As a police officer myself (and a supervisor in our selection section) I always find it to be pretty wild who wants to join the profession. I haven't yet seen MLB scout on a resume though! Be safe out there!
