Big fan when you came up with the A's. Now that you're a free agent are you more just looking for the perfect fit, or are you looking at playoff teams? A's will probably be rebuilding and could use you.
Dan Straily
10:14
Perfect Fit, when I was a rookie I was told by Jonny Gomes when the time comes for you to choose your team go where you feel wanted not tolerated

Hello, as you reflect on your career, have there been times where you pitched not 100%?  What is the thought process that you go through as a professional athlete from and injury perspective?  Thank you!
Dan Straily
10:16
there have been many times where I have taken the ball not 100% but that is all part of being durable. Big difference between not 100% and being injured.

10:16
What were some of the first impressions that you remember when you first landed on Korea?
Dan Straily
10:18
All the tall buildings that looked the same. and some shock at how many signs were in English.

Thanks for coming to chat with us today Dan. So you've been traded, claimed off waivers, released, and played for several teams both in the US as well as in Korea. How hard is it to deal with all these changes? Does it get easier over time?
Dan Straily
10:19
It does get easier. every time you are moved on or off a roster there is a big emotion tied to that but over time you just realize that its all part of the process and just have to keep working

What is the one thing you want the fans to know about the grind to becoming a big league player?  What is the biggest thing you think they are missing about the process?
Dan Straily
10:20
Go check out my podcast. A lot of this is talked about
Michael Fisher
10:20
After spending two years in the KBO, what would you say is the most significant difference between pitching in that league and pitching in MLB?
Dan Straily
10:21
we had back to back 10 month seasons because of covid the first year and Olympics the second. so my experience is just that the KBO season is so much longer yet they play fewer games.
Cleveland baseball fan
10:22
Hey Dan! What was the coolest stadium you ever pitched in?
Dan Straily
10:23
I am a big fan of Coors field. such a beautiful place to play baseball. but honestly each MLB stadium has something so special or unique that they are all awesome to play at.

Dan Straily
10:24
great question for my agent.
hi
10:24
When do you think the lockout ends
Dan Straily
10:24
hopefully sooner than later. we all can agree that we love baseball and the hot stove is part of it!
Erik
10:24
Have you noticed anything in common about the foreign players who succeed vs. fail in Korea? Is it all off-field stuff (adaptability/open-mindedness) that fans can't see, or have you picked up on anything else?
Dan Straily
10:25
I think it is the same as any other stop. when you believe in yourself as an athlete and trust your abilities you are the best version of yourself on the field.
