True or false: Danny Espinosa's lack of a beard has contributed to his 0 for 30 skid and .142/.214/.255 slash line?
Steve Adams
3:36
It is the only logical explanation.
John Moseliak
3:37
I gotta sign Lance Lynn to an extension or he's going to the Cubs, right? Will kill me two ways (my loss, their gain) if he replaces Lackey, right?
Steve Adams
3:38
Not sure why you immediately assume he ends up with the Cubs, unless you're just commenting on Chicago plucking Heyward/Lackey out of St. Louis in free agency.

I'd imagine if Lynn is healthy and still pitching well this summer around the All-Star break, Mozeliak and Co. will make an effort. He's blatantly said he wants to stay, and that'd be a logical time to try to get something to come together.

Is Mike Moustakas a realistic trade target for Boston if Pablo Sandoval returns from the DL and continues to suck?
Steve Adams
3:39
Definitely. The Royals may not be ready to sell yet, but they damn sure don't look like they're going anywhere this season, and Dombrowski isn't shy about trading for short-term pieces if he needs to.
3:40
Harvey is currently apologizing to team and fans, and taking full responsibility for the situation, for those who are tracking this insanity. No grievance coming, it seems.
Twins
3:40
MN to sign Fister?
Steve Adams
3:41
Nah -- sounds like he's going to an NL team, and they have other options for the rotation with Mejia, Berrios and eventually Gonzalves. Could move Duffey back in from the 'pen, too.
DL
3:41
Giants, Buy or Sell?
Steve Adams
3:41
I think they'll be selling off pieces this summer.
Sparky
3:41
Reds over/under 77 games What say you?
Steve Adams
3:42
Under. Current record notwithstanding, their rotation has been among the worst in the NL. I know they may eventually get DeSclafani back and Bailey is still around, but I'm not buying the pitching. Plus, I think if their record regresses they'll be more apt to trade away guys like Cozart, which won't make them any better

3:43
Dodgers AAA team is OKC.
Steve Adams
3:43
D'oh!
Thanks
3:44
Old habits and all that. I still call the Rockies' AAA affiliate Colorado Springs more than I should too!

Hey Steve, love the chats! Is Max Kepler legit? Is he there to Stay?Do you think he has what it takes to be a star Player?
Steve Adams
3:45
I don't know that I see him as a star, but I think Kepler can be a Josh Reddick type of player for years to come -- can handle RF just fine, CF in a pinch, hits right-handed pitching very well. Question for him will be if he can ever figure out lefties. Still time for that, but he's had a lot of issues so far.
Steve
3:45
Does Arcia eventually hit or is he destined to be .220 with great defense?
Steve Adams
3:46
He's still only 22. Most guys don't hit right away. I don't think he's going to be Lindor, Seager, Correa, etc. -- but he's a better hitter than he's been.
Doug Fister
3:46
Where do I end up?
Steve Adams
3:46
Guessing D-backs, based on what's out there right now.
Giants Don't Sell
3:46
The Giants never sell, but I think they should be looking to trade everybody in the majors except Posey and Bumgarner and maybe Panik and Arroyo, and very maybe Belt.
Steve Adams
3:47
I'm aware that it's not their style, but guys like Nunez and Cueto (if the opt-out doesn't make him too difficult to move) make sense as trade chips if the Giants are buried, since both could be gone this winter anyway.
Scherzer's Blue Eye
3:47
What's going on with Joe Ross? Is he heading to the bullpen eventually?
Steve Adams
3:48
I wondered about that this morning -- if they're concerned about his issues against LHBs and have a thin bullpen anyhow, why not just move Ross into that role? Protects his shoulder, lets his fastball velo play up, and his already plus slider would only be more effective with the extra life on his fastball. Makes sense to me, though I do think he has solid mid-rotation potential as a starter.

Break up the Royals! Cain to Washington, Hosmer to the Yankees, Moose to Boston or St. Louis, Sal Perez to the Mets--prospects galore!
Steve Adams
3:49
Cain, Hoz, Moose, Alcides, Herrera and Soria could all go this summer. Perez is staying.

3:49
What would it take to have Trout, Harper, and Machado on same team? besides ASG, video game, and fantasy baseball?
Steve Adams
3:50
Even in fantasy that's borderline impossible!

Only thing I way I can see that happening would be Arte Moreno just plopping down $700-800 million for Machado and Harper in two winters, ha.

3:51
Hey Steve. After watching the marathon Indians-Blue Jays game last year and Yankees-Cubs game on Sunday, will MLB do anything to prevent such long games? Perhaps they could start the beginning of the 13th inning with runners on first and second.
Steve Adams
3:51
I will never get behind the idea of starting any inning with runners on base, and I don't think you'll see it anytime in the near future
Cool Papa Bell
3:55
Have you heard anything about Jameson's surgery, recovery and possible timetable to return?
Steve Adams
3:56
The only thing out there on Taillon to this point was the press release we got from the Pirates yesterday, which Jeff relayed in the post on his unfortunate surgery. Obviously, everyone that's in the know on his situation is going to play it close to the vest for now. Wishing him a full (and hopefully expeditious) recovery.

3:56
Why isn't anybody trying out Brett Lawrie? Isn't there a team out there that could use a league average utility infielder? What really happened with Canadian Red Bull?
Steve Adams
3:57
He said he wasn't going to sign until the nagging injuries he was dealing with healed up. If he were ready to join a club, I'm sure his agency would be hosting workouts and getting the word out through the media. Doesn't seem he's at that point yet.
Julio Pepper
3:58
Why isn't Garret Stubbs a top prospect? He looks like a catcher who's raking in AA; is it because scouts don't think he'll stick at C?
Steve Adams
3:59
He's 11th on the Astros' list at MLB.com -- not bad for a decent farm system. But he's also small for the position and has yet to show much power as a pro.

Hey Steve, I know you have mentioned the Royals briefly twice already. I have a question on the timeframe of the breakup, obvious to many fans here in KC, is they aren't going to be together through the remainder of the season. However, any idea how much longer we have? I want to get my boy out to see the "core" prior to dismantling and didn't know if there were many rumors about when it would take place.
