Hi Jaden, if the tags that were reported stolen, are receiving tickets in the District of Columbia, and you already tried to contest the tickets with our adjudication team, I recommend that you file an appeal if you are within 30 days of your decision. https://dmv.dc.gov/service/contest-parking-and-photo-enforcement-ticke...

Could you please further assist with a situation where an official police report from NC And a receipt letter from NJ DMV is being rejected for proof of stolen tags.  Thank you

Hi Margo, first of all congrats to you and your partner!

To avoid getting ticketed in the interim, you all can set up a Park DC Permits account and set up "visitor permits" for his vehicle. Learn more on DDOT's website here:

Hi! My partner recently moved in with me and already updated his license to my address. He is still waiting on Toyota to send him his lease info so that he can get DC tags/register to park in my zone. But they are being very very slow. Is there anything he can he do in the interim so that he doesnt get ticketed?  Thanks so much for offering this chat function!!

Hi Will! You will need to re-visit us again with all your documents physically in hand, and provide documentation showing that JP Morgan Chase bought out the previous company (SAC).

Hello.  I own a 1998 Subaru Forester that I financed through Subaru American Credit (SAC) and paid off approximately 25 years ago. SAC's lien was never removed from my DC title record, and when I recently applied for a duplicate title, DC DMV declined to issue a clean title until I provide a lien release letter that specifically names Subaru American Credit as the releasing lienholder. JPMorgan Chase, which replaced SAC as Subaru's finance partner in 2001, has provided a lien release letter, but DC DMV cannot accept it because it does not specifically name Subaru American Credit.  I am reaching out to ask whether there is an administrative path available for situations like this.  Many thanks!

I'm now ready to take your questions related to any DMV service and activity. If you have a question not related to DMV, I'll try my best to redirect you to the appropriate agency. Also, I may not be able to answer specific questions which require research related to DMV issues since I only have an hour to chat. Therefore, if your question is specific to your driver license, a ticket, etc., I may request you submit it to our team here https://bit.ly/38WfT86  with more detail.
Today, we’ll discuss your various DMV issues related to driver licenses and identification cards; vehicle inspections, titles and registrations; and the adjudication of photo, parking and moving violations. We have over 55 online services (http://dmv.dc.gov/page/online-services) and multiple facilities which provide in-person service to 2,800-3,300 daily customers. In regard to tickets, we have two main sister agencies: DDOT which regulates parking (i.e., signage, meters and parking permits), DPW/DDOT which issues parking tickets, and MPD who issues photo enforcement tickets along with 30 plus other entities in the District.
