Well, hopefully you should be able to one day collect one's driver record and use it to provide same with solution to the driver issues in the state where they are resident since you have the same record

You must have a valid license status before you can apply for a DC license.  Reinstatement would not be required in DC, but your license status must be valid.

I have never had a driver license in DC do I need a reinstatement in DC?
DC Dept of Motor Vehicles
12:32
Each violation type could have slightly different requirements.  Please contact the other state where the violation happened  and the number I provided for what's needed in DC to reinstate.
Augustine
12:31
Thanks of the information so far  What will be an example of DC rule for reinstatement?
DC Dept of Motor Vehicles
12:26
We cannot tell you what or how to be processed in the state where the violation happened.  You will need to contact them directly.  For DC guidance, you can contact 202-727-5450.
Augustine

Is there an office(r) to guide me on how to work with both  states?
DC Dept of Motor Vehicles
12:20
You will use the prescribed instruction from the state where the violation happened.  You will then follow DC rules for reinstatement.  You have to work with BOTH states.

Good day,  Mr. Robinson, Now that DC is part of the State to State driver verification, can a DC resident with out of State revocation be able to use DC DMV prescribed treatment program to reinstate the driver driving privilege in DC?

I was not. She was unwilling to make an exception despite agreeing that I had brought in every form that the website requested. She said the birth certificate was needed to "prove that it was a real person." It is insane to think that someone who is doing end of life planning would come down to the DMV, sit for a half an hour, just to enter a fake person as a beneficiary.

Thank you for the organization answer on license plates

I am happy to investigate this issue and resolve the error.  Were you able to complete your transaction?
Michael
12:12
Ok I brought everything that was requested on the website. However the form itself states something different. The supervisor acknowledged this and said I had to follow the form. Specifically, that I needed to bring a copy of the beneficiaries birth certificate, despite bringing a copy of her drivers license, because they need to make sure that they are a "real person"

I was recently utilizing the chat feature and had an unpleasant interaction. I asked to be sent information on how to leave a review but was ignored twice. How can I leave a review of that interaction?

I apologize for your experience.  However, what is your question?
Michael
12:06
  • I already sent you an email about this matter, but had an awful experience at Georgetown on the 31st. Your website states that I needed "Valid driver license or identification card of vehicle owner
  • Vehicle information (at least one of the following items to identify your vehicle)
  • Vehicle registration
  • Vehicle registration renewal notice
  • Vehicle title number
  • Proposed beneficiary - a copy of the valid driver license or identification card"

With the considerable amount of license plate option available in DC why is there no IAFF license plate option for members of the IAFF who live in the District but work in other jurisdictions?? International Association of Firefighters

Good morning Mr Robinson. I wanted to discuss how the DMV handles the adding of beneficiaries to vehicle titles
DC Dept of Motor Vehicles
I'm now ready to take your questions related to any DMV service and activity. If you have a question not related to DMV, I'll try my best to redirect you to the appropriate agency.  Also, I may not be able to answer specific questions which require research related to DMV issues since I only have an hour to chat. Therefore, if your question is specific to your driver license, a ticket, etc, I may request you submit it to us by email (dmv@dc.gov) or service request (http://311.dc.gov).
12:00
Good afternoon and welcome to today’s online chat with me, Gabriel Robinson, DMV Director. Today, we’ll discuss your various DMV issues related to driver licenses and identification cards; vehicle inspections, titles and registrations; and the adjudication of photo, parking and moving violations. We have over 55 online services (http://dmv.dc.gov/page/online-services) and seven facilities which provide in-person service to 2,800-3,300 daily customers. In regard to tickets, we have two main sister agencies: DDOT which regulates parking (i.e., signage, meters and parking permits) and DPW/DDOT which issues parking tickets, along with 30 plus other entities in the District. Also, MPD issues photo enforcement tickets.
11:30
Good morning, please submit your questions now. The chat session begins at 12PM (NOON) EST.
