If you contested the ticket, it is officially suspended until you receive a response.  Do not pay the ticket until you receive an official response.

It's due tomorrow to be paid. Is there a way to get an extension on payment until they decide about it?
I contested a ticket but haven't not gotten a reply

I contested a ticket online but have not gotten a response and it's due to be paid tomorrow.

Thank you for the question.  Yes, you should have received a "non-expiring" inspection sticker to be displayed on an electric vehicle.  Please DM me your tag number and email address such that my team and I can work with you directly.

I never received an inspection sticker when I registered my electric vehicle. I was never informed I needed one - I was told I was exempt from inspections. I have received five tickets for "Failure to Display Inspection Sticker" aka Violation Code: P113 from the same officer. Each time, I have contested those tickets on the grounds that I have an electric vehicle and thus do not need to have my car inspected. Each time, those tickets were dismissed. I never had to appeal or file a motion to vacate. That is until Ticket #8206488732. I contested that ticket as normal and asked why I continue to be ticketed when I have proven to the DMV that I have an EV and do not need an inspection. Well, this time, my contesting of that kind of ticket was denied. So I appealed that decision, which was also denied. Now, I am expected to complete and file a motion to vacate and pay the $50 ticket plus the $10 fee. WHY? If my vehicle is exempt and I never received a "inspection" sticker at registration, how am I at fault?

Hi!
DC Dept of Motor Vehicles
Also, I may not be able to answer specific questions which require research related to DMV issues since I only have an hour to chat.  Therefore, if your question is specific to your driver license, a ticket, etc, I may request you submit it to us by email (dmv@dc.gov) or service request (http://311.dc.gov).

Good afternoon and welcome to today’s online chat with me, Gabriel Robinson, DMV Director. Today, we’ll discuss your various DMV issues related to driver licenses and identification cards; vehicle inspections, titles and registrations; and the adjudication of photo, parking and moving violations.  We have over 55 online services (http://dmv.dc.gov/page/online-services) and seven facilities which provide in-person service to 2,800-3,300 daily customers.  In regards to tickets, we have two main sister agencies:  DDOT which regulates parking (i.e., signage, meters and parking permits) and DPW/DDOT which issues parking tickets, along with 30 plus other entities in the District.  Also, MPD issues photo enforcement tickets.

I'm now ready to take your questions related to any DMV service and activity.  If you have a question not related to DMV, I'll try my best to redirect you to the appropriate agency.
