Hey Brent - FPL was just awesome!  great panels and speakers.  Really got me geared up for baseball.  Question has to do with the scrubs portion of stars and scrubs in a mixed league 5X5.  Which of these pitchers do you dislike the least?  Kim (STL), Minor, Sheffield (SEA), Happ, Boyd, Cease.  Thanks!

To bolster your point about waiting on 1B: In my TGFBI league (https://draft.shgn.com/nfc/public/dp/683/grid), several of us waited on first base until very late. I finally rostered Yuli Gurriel in Round 17, but you can still get Jared Walsh, Nate Lowe, Bobby Dalbec, Rowdy Tellez in Rounds 18-21.

Think it's probably tougher to pull off there, but so much depends on other factors -- # of teams, especially. Might be better off w balanced approach.

Interesting; again trying to wrap my mind around the cats on the fly. Double-counting the Ks seems big to me. But still might go Greinke, who's Ks have held up even as velo has decreased. Best team situation, though hate to try and predict those W and Ls.

1NL only 11 team 5 by 5 with obp.  on bubble to keep - Starlin Castro at 11, Adam Duvall at 3, Mahle, Melancon and Descarfini at 5, Cole Tucker at 1.  Can keep 2 or 3 (or none)?

Mahle for sure at that price; think he was breakout potential. Probably Duvall also, just b/c of that 3. Think I"d pass on the rest.

I have Ohtani in a traditional 5X5 12 team AL only.  I can move him between UT and P as part of weekly transactions but he cannot play both and the decision where he goes must be made at the beginning of the week.  How should I be thinking about him relative to draft prep?  Can he be trusted as a pitcher-first at this point?

Confession: It's petty, but I've avoided Ohtani for the potential headache-inducing decisions like this. But in your case, I think you keep, and just monitor and see what happens. Try to get a feel on how they'll use him; then treat him like other pitchers you may "stream" a bit -- depends on his matchups. The downside is if you don't like his matchup, is the amount of ABs he's going to get in a week really worth it? I THINK this is a long way of saying, no, I don't think he can be trusted as pitcher-first at this point. But ... maybe he/they commit to one role -- and then we win, I think. Would love to see it.

what are your thoughts on Lindblom in Mil this season; and Pagan in SD - will he figure in the saves department? (keeper list questions!)

Very interested in Lindbloom late; if only b/c of the pitch design stuff. Love Pagan's stuff, and feel like that SD CL is open .. .but he's one among many. And they totally would a candidates to bring in a guy mid-season.

In NL 10 team 260 5x5 keeper, have very good infield position flexibility with keepers Edman (2-S-3), McMahon (1-2) and Ke’Bryan, and $$ to spend. Since I can draft at any IF position, feels like I ought to focus on SS, which has best players and greatest depth. Advice?

Sounds like a perfect plan to me, esp since it's deep and you have $ to spend. Set a budget; get the best guy. Lines up perfectly (in theory, right?).
