I ran our Custom Draft Guide for 10-team NL w/top players option, got Elly at $28. Assume you have a decent chunk of inlfation feeding those prices. Also assume the market is higher on Elly than our projection. I can easily get myself to 40, maybe a few bucks more. I'd def be out at 50+

2 colorado pitchers:
T Kinley is having a great spring. Is there any chance he can provide 15 saves and an ERA under $4?
Is Chase Dollander worth chasing or do I leave him be because he's a Rockie?
Ray Murphy
12:42
I'm interested in Kinley. Unlike most COL pitchers, I think he'll either be pretty good or hurt, so I'm not terribly worried about blowup risk. But that's exactly why I'd avoid Dollander or just about anyone else there.

Top o' the day to ya, Raymond! 2morrow is draft day. In my 12 team keeper, there's been a shift from prior years. Many are keeping closers. Most of the steadily closer employed are gone. Can you possibly list some set up dudes or in-battle winners with a real shot at moving to closer early in the season. Appreciate your input.
Ray Murphy

Jason Adam or Jeremiah Estrada in SD, Slaten in Boston, Erceg in KC, Uceta in TAM... a lot depends on unexpected/unpredictable blowups or injuries from guys we consider "safe" right now.

12 team AL only 5X5 $260 keeper - I am having a tough time with my final keeper slot and the trade market has stagnated.  Who would you keep, if any, of the following:  Kumar Rocker $5, Zebby Matthews $6, Coby Mayo $5, Ryan Pepiot $17 or Ernie Clement $4?
Ray Murphy
12:45
I'm really drawn to Rocker, think he's my choice here.
Broken bat
12:48
There seems to be a bundle of prospect catchers just on the outside looking in, or maybe like Baldwin of Braves, a spot opens sooner because of injury. What 2-3 prospect catchers peak your interest on an offensive basis, and finally where would Endy of Pirates rank among them given he has been gone for so long?
Ray Murphy
12:48
I think/hope Agustin Ramirez in Miami gets an early shot.

Not terribly optimistic about Endy. I don't trust PIT to give him a long look, and to be fair I'm not sure he warrants one either.

Ray, Help me!!! I’m in a 10 team 5x5 OBP Dynasty League trying to figure out what to do with some of those questionable back-up/gambles: The first is the black hole that is 2b. Most of the top players are already gone and with Colt Keith moving to first would you try and ride that this year or gamble on a Vaughn Grissom, Baty, Acuna, Whitcomb, etc? The second question is Soderstrom? He has not had the best spring, worth holding to see how the season starts?
Ray Murphy
12:49
I like Keith's bat a lot, I'd be willing to ride that and worry about his eligibility next year. If you can stash a Baty too, all the better.

Soderstrom: I tend not to worry too much about spring stats, except in cases like this. He needs to get hot to have a chance to go north, I think.

Pretty high reserve pick in an NL only keeper league and I'm playing for this year. Does Haesong Kim and Devy De Los Santos make sense here over De Vries, Eldridge, Weatherholt  since I'm all in for this year? (other top prospects are already kept)
Ray Murphy
12:50
Sure, if you're playing for now, stick to that in the reserves. Still don't think Kim will be down for all that long.

(sigh) What to make of Bobby Miller. Great case of fighting recently bias case and then he gets hit in the head. What side of the coin flip seems more realistic?  Talented kid who fought injuries and is ready to be a second half weapon or just another one year wonder who'll tease us drafters for the next 3 years?
Ray Murphy
12:51
Yeah, I was watching that comebacker live... terrifying in the moment.

Dodgers are too smart to have this kid flame out, I think. Like his chances of emerging as an asset sometime this summer.

Favourite 2nd catchers in an AL only?
Ray Murphy
12:52
I mean, "favorite" probably overstates it, but I think there's a Bo Naylor rebound coming. d'Arnaud won't hurt you, still like Higashioka and Rogers too.

What to expect from Semien this year? Bounce back or continue decline?
Ray Murphy
12:53
Been avoiding him hard. Skills slipping, big PA totals that drive his value could be next.

H2H OBP. R. Lewis and R. McMahon at 3B. FA is trash. Hope for best or make a trade? What to expect from Lewis this year?
Ray Murphy
12:54
No idea what to expect from Lewis, really, but McMahon is a good hedge/backup. He's got all of the consistency that Lewis doesn't.

My leagues all switched from Weekly to Daily moves. Standard 5x5 both mixed and only leagues. What's your philosophy about streaming mediocre SP's at the risk of ratios? Load up on pitchers to stream or hitters to plug in when a guy is out of the lineup?
Ray Murphy
12:55
i'd have my bench mostly pitchers in this setup, but don't get carried away early. Don't want to trash your ratios by early May.
Dynasty Addict

H2H, OBP.  Can get E. Carter for $2 in dynasty. Have Nimmo($9) for this year.  Good investment? What do you expect from him beyond this year?
Ray Murphy
12:55
Not a huge Carter fan, but OBP dynasty is absolutely the right format to take a shot at him.

12:56
I'm not buying the hype on Coby Mayo.  From what I've seen he looks to be a three true outcomes, AAAA player.  Strikes out way too much.  Is it time to let him go?
Ray Murphy
12:56
Way too early to say that. If "let him go" means "deal him while his value is intact", then sure. But don't just toss him aside.
Greg
12:57
How confident are you either George Kirby for 2025 - still drafting him? Where do you rank?
Ray Murphy
12:57
I'm tentatively buying at the discount unless another shoe drops. Seems like he could be back in mid/late April if all continues to go well. I'll take that.
Bob
12:57
Would you rather keep Skenes or Tucker? They can be kept indefinitely.
Ray Murphy
12:57
I'm risk averse with keepers, so give me Tucker.
Bob
12:57
Do you like Caleb Durbin as a late round pick in a 14 team league?
Ray Murphy
12:57
Very late, but yes...
Ray Murphy
12:58
OK, that was a fast hour, going to wrap it up here. Sorry if I didn't get to your question.... will be back next week, and Brent's here on Monday. Good luck in your drafts this weekend!
