AJSS would intrigue me here.

What do you consider for you to be the biggest challenge in an AL-only or NL-only auction draft and what is your solution?
Brent Hershey
12:28
Securing as many FT AB as possible. In the end game, don't be afraid of Paul DeJong or Orlando Arcia types

Good morning Brent. I managed to get Bubba relatively cheaply in a trade for my 12 team mixed league. When do you  think we see him up? Also, is there a good chance he's pitching through the H2H fantasy playoffs? Thx!
Brent Hershey
12:29
Midseason. Not sure about late in the year; could very easily shut him down even if he's dealing.

12:30
Grant Holmes is moving up in drafts. Is he a $10 keeper in an NL 10 team 5x5 league? I note his LABR cost was $5 and $8 in Tout NL.
Brent Hershey
12:30
Might be, with inflation. Like his prospects a lot. Note that the LABR price was before he handled spring training

12:31
Is Nimmo more likely to get 90 RBI again or 15 SB?  or both?  (By the way, I keep forgetting to say THANK YOU for answering our questions!  Much appreciated!)
Brent Hershey
12:31
Whew ... 15 SB, even though odds of either I find slim.

And you're welcome ... this is always a fun hour!

12:31
It feels like Clay Holmes will be this year's ReyLo.  Thoughts?
Brent Hershey
12:31
Very possible. Quite interested.
Rick
12:34
Agree Baltimore sends Mayo back down? Are they going to ruin him or give him a chance? Has your outlook changed?
Brent Hershey
12:34
Yes, agree that he'll start in Norfolk. Seems like they'd have to give him some sort of shot this year, but I'm losing a bit of good feels for that front office. Obv an outsiders view, but player development seems top-notch; team-building needs much more attention.
Jim
12:35
Assuming back issue resolved, do you see Evan Carter as full time or platoon? Keep him or Nootbar?
Brent Hershey
12:35
Health usually doesn't fix platoon splits, especially ones like these. :-)  I'd keep Noot instead.

12:37
Thank you for doing these!  How much, if at all, are you fading Rays and A’s pitchers due to changes in ballparks? Conversely, are you expecting more out of the hitters there? Any particular fades of faves due to those changes? Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:37
Mentioned before, but am careful not to overload on Rays players. Both ballpark and schedule (TONS of time on the road mid-season) make me a bit wary on both sides. Hitters in Sacramento should get a bit of the boost just b/c of the more 'traditional' foul ground. Otherwise, tough to tell.

12:39
Looks like McCarthy will be full time starter. What's your level of confidence in him and what kind of numbers?
Brent Hershey
12:39
Fairly confident. Single-digit HR, could approach 30 SB. BA won't hurt.
Paul
12:39
one more comparison for that 10 team 5x5 dynasty league: Manzardo or Soderstrom?
Brent Hershey
12:39
Soderstrom by a hair

Freeze is Wednesday. Playing more for next year than this.  I have both my #4 Starter Zach Littell and RP David Robertson for $3.  Do I gamble freezing Robertson instead of Littell with the hope hw signs in the AL before our auction on the 28th?
Brent Hershey
12:40
In your situation, yes. Play for upside

Hi Brent,

Looking at these end-game SPs for my AL-only Scoresheet team:
Shane Smith (Rule 5 pickup - seems unlikely White Sox would let him go back to the Brewers for 50 grand)
Richard Fitts (looks like he'll crack the Red Sox rotation out of camp.  But what happens when Crawford, Bello, and Giolito return)
Sean Burke (Venable named him his opening day starter)
Luis L Ortiz (his surface stats from last season are entirely misleading)

How would you rank the above?  Does anyone really pop in your eyes?  You have been a guiding light throughout my Scoresheet drafts.  Thank you once again for your valuable insights.
Brent Hershey
12:42
I'd rank Burke, Ortiz, Fitts, Smith. Maybe Fitts over Ortiz, though like the CLE pitching dev group (of course BOS is very good in that sense, too). Thx for the kind words and good luck!

12:43
Hey Brent. Any hope Keller can be anything more than a #4 or #5 starter and can Gausman bounce back to the pitcher he was? Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:43
Gausman scenario more likely than the Keller one for me

12:45
Thanks for the chat, Brent. NL, 12-team, Dynasty. Birdsong was an FAAB last year (.70) and I carried him through league waivers. What to make of his ridiculous spring numbers -- 18K, 0BB, 6 hits in 12 IP? He's on my draft day bubble, largely because he doesn't have a role. The CTL improvement has come out of nowhere...
Brent Hershey
12:45
Without knowing the specifics, if you carried him through the offseason, this (spring) is best-case scenario, right? Then I'd probably lean towards keeping him if it's plausible (IE, even if he gets sent back down)

12:46
which one for DH in 15 teamer...and is it close...Ty France and Jonathan Aranda....thank you!
Brent Hershey
12:46
Aranda. One of the Rays hitters I'm interested in w/ the short RF porch.

12 team AL-only traditional 5X5 keeper $260 - Having difficulty with my final keeper spot between $6 Kumar Rocker, $3 Ernie Clement or $17 Ryan Pepiot.  Any of these keeper worthy?  If so, how would you rank them?
Brent Hershey
12:47
AL only, I'd go Clement / Rocker / Pepiot. Like Pep, but not at that price.
Paul

Hello good sir. Thanks for the help. In a 10 team 5x5 dynasty league with OBP, NSVH and QS. Wanted thoughts on a few players: Lodolo or Leiter? Baty or Norby or both? Erceg or Romano or Doval or Uceta or Adam?
Brent Hershey
12:48
Lodolo; both; Romano

Hi Brent,
Happy St. Patrick’s Day. I need to find a lucky leprechaun at 2B in an 11-team rotisserie league where we score OBP and SOs as well. I built a strong offense and I took T. Estrada as a dart.  Are any of the following 2B a better super-safe choice: Maikel Garcia, Willi Castro, Gelof, Cronenworth, Otto Lopez (he had a write up today), Morel, Massey, or Caballero?
Brent Hershey
12:49
Lopez; maybe Gelof or Garcia.

Is Manzardo going to play 1B at all?  or just DH?  I am concerned about him clogging my UT spot all year.  (2 games at 1B will make him a 1B in our league).  I am also concerned about him being worth $6 in my AL only obp league -- should I be?
Brent Hershey
12:50
Oh, he'll get 2 games there I'd think. And that looks like a fine keeper to me.

Pfaadt seems to have a lot of helium.  Is he a solid SP3 on a very good team?  Or do you have concerns?
