He made some nice ct% gains last year that didn't really show up in the BA. If he can nudge the ct% up a couple more ticks into the low 70s, BA should climb into .240s at least.

Pick #14 tonight in Mixed league snake 15 teams with obp and Saves/holds.  Give me 2-3 of your favorites.  thank you as always.

Chourio and Lindor are a couple of my favorite targets at the back end of a mixed draft this year. But in OBP format, I think Yordan and Harper really stand out as a couple of guys who sit in rd2 by NFBC ADP but really jump when you account for OBP. If you run our Custom Draft Guide with OBP instead of BA, Yordan is our #6 hitter and Bryce is #9. You could get both of them and have a fantastic OBP foundation over ~1000 PA.

Hi Ray, Happy Spring!  AL only 12T, 5x5.  I have Josh Hader at 32, better to throw him back and bid aggressively on Devin Williams, or stand pat.  Rest of roster is pretty strong.  32 is common price level for closers in this league.  Thank you!

Seems a little too cute, no? I like Dev a little better, as it sounds like you do. But I'd probably prefer to have a bird in hand. What if you throw Hader back and he comes up for bid first, you wait on Dev and don't get him? I'd just freeze JH and be done with it, I think.

What round would you even think about taking a Royce Lewis, Byron Buxton, Zach Neto, Grayson Rodriguez, George Kirby, Park Meadows,  type in a 15 teamer? I know it obviously has to due with your roster makeup and needs, etc., but as far as risk is concerned at what point are they worth taking a chance on round-wise in your opinion?

Some wildly different situations here, I think the answers vary a lot:
  • Kirby - covered above... I'm in on him maybe rd 8-9.
  • Buxton - news is really promising so far, I'd take above his ADP.
  • Grayson - seems ominous, he's very late for me and even then only if you have IL slots/don't have to carry him on bench.
  • Meadows - doesn't seem terribly serious, I might buy at a slight discount. He's going very late (south of rd20), I'm interested there.
  • Neto - last I heard he isn't even throwing yet? I don't like the sound of that.
  • Lewis - like Grayson, only if I can IL slot him.

Top 5 overall best teams this year?  (I target my saves/holds there).

Who's the best team after the Dodgers? You can throw a blanket over everyone else, it seems. Some pens I'd like to fish in:
  • SD: tons of options behind Suarez, all of whom are at least good Holds sources
  • Tampa: track record speaks for itself, lots of options there, always well-deployed.
  • Minnesota: lots of arms I like there, even behind Duran: Jax is a stud, Sands, Stewart when healthy.
  • Arizona: tons of role uncertainty, but so many nice arms there: Puk/Martinez, but also Ginkel, recovering Graveman, Mantiply a reliable LH, even Shelby Miller still has skills.

Drop 1 of Wallner, Greene, Langaliers OBP league

I said nice things about Langeliers above, but he's potentially deadly to your OBP. Lots of playing time and has never posted a .300 OBP. Drop him.

Love em both.

OK, I seem to have found the bottom of the question queue, so think I'll wrap this early. Back to our usual noon slot next Friday, when we can spend a full hour overreacting to Opening Day developments. Some closer will blow a save and we'll have 20 questions about him. Can't wait! Good luck to everyone drafting this weekend.....
