Depends whose expectations one is using, ha. I'll go Wrobleski and Cowser. Nola and Shaw also considerations.

Hi Brent,

Here's my rotation so far in my AL-only, ten team Scoresheet league:
Crochet
Sale
S Gray
Castillo
Soriano

We're in the early rounds of the draft and for my #6 SP I am considering:
Detmers
Matz
Bradley
Lugo
J Lopez
Warren
Verlander

I'm in win-now mode; seeking a championship repeat.  Who do you like?  I'm leaning Detmers.

Thank you.
Brent Hershey

Given that 5, I'm thinking innings as depth... so though I don't love him, Lugo should be a consideration. Warren has shown he can stay in the rotation longer than Detmers, but I also am intrigued with Reid's upside. Warren / Lugo / Detmers for me.

Yelich or O.Cruz for this year. Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:43
Yelich. I'm fading Cruz hard

Mick Abel, Miguel Mendez, or Jarlin Susana as a last round rookie flyer in an 18 team Scoresheet league?
Brent Hershey
12:44
Abel. Closest.

Nearing the end of our AL Scoresheet 10 team keeper league draft and you can never have enough pitching. Considering the following, who do I throw my dart at: Eflin, Bradley, Scherzer, Lauer, Javier or Martinez?
Brent Hershey
12:45
Eflin, then Javier
John

Who is this year's Agustin Ramirez? Do you see any current minor league catchers who could make the jump and contribute similarly this year or next year for those in dynasty leagues?
Brent Hershey
12:47
Rainiel Rodriguez with the Cardinals is prob two years away. Same for Duno of the Reds, though both maybe sneak into 2027 conversation with continued big years.
Rick
12:49
Are you fading O.Cruz hard enough that you would still take Yelich in a dynasty league?
Brent Hershey
12:49
No, but I'd look hard for better options.

AL only with obp, please rank:  KCarpenter, JSanchez, LButler.  Any strong likes/dislikes here?
Brent Hershey
12:50
Would flip Butler and Sanchez; hoping that growth happens for young Lawrence

If you’re sitting out the bidding on the big 3 SPs in an roto auction redraft this year, who are you most excited to roster as your SP1 and what price range are you looking at for your SP2?
Brent Hershey
12:51
Jesús Luzardo, maybe? SP2 - $15-17? So hard to say, though. Every auction room so different.

Most folks seem down on Stridor.  What are your thoughts?  If his velocity is "x?" in spring, should I make him a target?  or any different spring evaluation?
Brent Hershey
12:52
I'm also a bit down. Hasn't shown he can be as effective if he's not consistently 97-99

NL only:  RNelson or RLopez?  SManaea or ANola?  CHorton or Lodolo?
Brent Hershey
12:53
Nelson; Nola; Lodolo

Rank these arms for a quality starts roto redraft league; imanaga, ray, bibee, burrows cavalli, gallen, sh smith, bubic, baz, e cabrera, j Soriano, nola, mize
Brent Hershey
12:54
Too many for full rank, but Sh Smith, Imanaga, Nola, Mize would be my faves. In general, love Burrows/Cavalli, but not drafting them expecting they are QS studs this year

AL only, obp league.  Please rank:  MVargas, CKeith, CMeidroth.  Any strong likes/dislikes here?
Brent Hershey
12:55
Think Keith could take the next step up (20+ HR). Him, then Vargas, then Meidroth

Will Griffin (for sure) and McGonigle (maybe) shadow other mid tier teams from bringing up a prospect out of ST since ROY benefit may be mute? And…please provide a couple of prospect names to follow that may surprise and make Opening Day Rosters.
Brent Hershey
12:58
Not exactly sure of Q1, but I don't think that this year, other MLB teams are looking at PIT or DET to make their own prospect decisions, if that's what you mean.
Q2 - TJ Rumfield, Kyle Harrison are two that initially come to mind.

Love your insight and analysis.

1.)  Do you have any upside Catchers for AL-Only (12-team, 4x4 standard Roto) -- outside the top ~15 rated --  who you see getting real ABS (>250) and contributing a few $ of value?

2.) Does DeVries get a sniff this year?  I see some underwhelming bats in that infield (Muncy), and the kid has ceiling.  Any chance he gets to >250 ABs in 2026? Unfortunately, I do not see it.

Thank you.
Brent Hershey

1) Not off the cuff, no. CA is strong; I'd try to get one of the top 15
2) Little chance he gets to 250 AB, but I do think he could be a bit overlooked in terms of getting a 2026 cup of coffee late. Needs to crush high minors, but could happen. Talented player

For some reason this Q was giving me tech problems, so going to past it in here: "AL only:  PTolle v. CEarly;  Flaherty v. Bassitt.  Any strong likes/dislikes here?"
Brent Hershey

Tolle for bigger/louder tools (though Early could come first); Bassitt for consistency, but Flaherty of you need Ks and wins.

Alright folks ... got through everyone! Covered a lot of ground. Enjoy all the baseball over the next week; crush your drafts, and we'll do it again next Monday! See ya!
