Greetings! Thanks, chatters, for coming out on this fine Memorial Day. Queue is full, so let's go ...
Koz
12:08
who do you like the best ROS...Alex Cobb, Aaron Ashby, Spencer Strider?
Brent Hershey
12:08
Our projections say Ashby will nudge Cobb; but Cobb will likely get more IP. Feel like Strider is not far behind, but the role matters, and that's currently not set in stone just yet.

Hi Brent - please rank these three OFs for ROS - 5x5 NL only league: T. Taylor/Robles/Morel.  Thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:10
Taylor/Morel/Robles -- Don't let one hot weekend from Victor sway you. Taylor's got the right mix of experience, skills and potential opportunity with those MIL OFers ahead of him, even w/ Renfroe coming back soon.

Brent, are we seeing Franchy breakout? is kikuchi legit ace? thank you
Brent Hershey
12:13
Franchy's always been interesting b/c of his hard-hit data, but the swing and miss seriously held him back. Now at just 25% K% through his first 71 AB ... if that even stays below 30%, I think we might shave something. Prob too early to tell, but definitely watchable.
And no, Kikuchi is not a legit ace ... but that doesn't mean he can't help your fantasy squad

I might have to make a choice between Junis and R. Contreras (5x5 NL only).   Roansy has the upside, but Junis is  on a team that actually scores runs and wins games.    Any thoughts?  I'm guessing I'll go with Roansy.   Trying to trade one of them, in any case.
Brent Hershey
12:16
Junis also is with a team with a track record of getting the most out of their players. But in a keeper league, Ronasy pretty easily. In a redraft ... I probably still slightly lean towards Roansy, but could see the case for Junis.

I have Trevor Rosenthal on my reserve bench. Any idea why he hasnt signed anywhere?  I'm about to dump him.
Brent Hershey
12:17
Have not heard anything, which is usually not hopeful here. My hunch would be you have a better use for that reserve spot.

Will Vinnie Pasquantino get called up anytime soon? The guy is on fire!
Brent Hershey
12:19
Think both he and Pratto will be on the way up soon ... but it's currently a full cupboard in KC. But I expect some re-shuffling on that team sometime over the next few weeks. That's the best I can give ya.

rank these players in a 6x6 roto with OPS as the 6th cat, Soler, Votto, Hoskins, K Marte, Olson. Thanks!

Would you value Alexis Diaz highly in a saves and holds league?
Brent Hershey
12:23
A bit higher than in a saves-only league ... but, wow, I'm just staying away from CIN bullpen, personally. They seem to be dead-set on NOT having a guy (realize that doesn't matter as much in H+Sv), there's not a skills monster there that I see, and ... the team itself is not good. Not sure from what I've seen that I expect Díaz to emerge from there.

Hi Brent,  I have asking weekly about Barnes and Dalbec in a very deep league. 1. Cut Dalebc for E. Rios? 2. Cut Barnes for Screibner?
Brent Hershey
12:26
  1. Yes, think I'd do that for Rios, though a small glimmer of hope from Dalbec this past week
  2. Not on Screibner, but I feel like it's safe to cut Barnes, yes. Though it seems like the Sox WANT him to have that job, he's just not been able to snag it. Hasn't looked good; don't agree w/ pitch selection among other things. Time to move on.

Happy Holiday, Brent.  In a HR and RBI focused league, is this the correct ROS rank: Blackmon, Larnach, T. Taylor, and Calhoun?
Brent Hershey
12:28
Likely, yes. I might flip the first two given the power focus, but decent hitters in Coors (even old ones) who have ABs locked down are always tempting. Larnach still has to prove he deserves everyday AB.

12:31
Which strong performing SP is least likely to keep it up: Joe Ryan, Triston McKenzie, or Tyler Anderson?
Brent Hershey
12:31
McKenzie or Anderson ... think I might lean Dodgers (pluses in player dev, team context, etc), even though McKenzie is the younger, sexier name. And I like Ryan more than some, but just not as much as the other two.

Rank these SPs for ROS: Roansy, Cobb, T Anderson, Snell, Carrasco. Thanks!

Hi Brent,  Great to be joining you for the BHQ BBQ chat.  Whom should I cut among these SPs:  Ryu, Berrios, Kelly, Tyler Anderson?
Brent Hershey
12:35
Probably Kelly, though Berríos has had a rough go, skills-wise. But longer track record, and better offense behind him keeps Berríos a better possibility for potential turn-around. Thanks for joining the chat!

With the call up of Michael Harris and the absolutely horrible year Adam Duvall is having do you see Duvall becoming a fourth outfielder and occasional DH guy?  Or maybe he even gets released?  Thank You
Brent Hershey
12:36
Yes, I think Duvall sticks around as a bench bat/insurance policy for Harris (and Acuña, really). Doubt they release him right now ... possibly later in the summer I guess if he's not been able to wiggle out of this slump.

Drey Jameson owner in a keeper league. Speculated that he would close by 2023. What's the latest thinking on his long-term role, and is he a call-up candidate for second half?
Brent Hershey
12:39
I don't think ARI will be that quick to give up on him starting. Given the overall state of things on that team, I say any transition to the bullpen for Jameson would happen at the MLB level after he's been unable to make the adjustment as an MLB SP. Could be that that is the path; but feel like the timeline for that would be further out that 2023.

FAAB decision for today: Who ends up with more playing time in Pittsburgh -- Mitchell or Marcano?
Brent Hershey
12:40
Mitchell. Better opportunity in OF; Marcano projects as a backup/utility player.
AL
12:41
AL - only 5x5 11 teams - hitting for pitching - which side do you like more, Eovaldi for Walsh
Brent Hershey
12:41
Eovaldi
Dalton
12:43
Need to pick 2 of these 4
Mixed H2H Points league
RBI, R, and SB all have same value

Taylor Ward
Yaz
L Gurriel
Christian Walker
Brent Hershey
12:43
Give me Ward and Gurriel due to their team contexts. Not 100% sold on Ward, but boy does Maddon like him, plays him a lot when healthy and Trout/Ohtani both batting after him. That gives him the edge.
that's priceless
12:43
Alek Thomas, Michael Harris, Jake McCarthy: 5 X 5 eleven  team NL only. From a fantasy prospective, who has the most value ROS this year and separately for next year.  Thx happy holiday
Brent Hershey
12:44
ROS: Thomas, Harris, McCarthy
2023: Harris, Thomas, McCarthy

Thoughts on the TB bullpen and if any viable save options will emerge?
