Same as it ever was. New and viable save options emerge all the time, but fantasy players will go batty trying to figure out who that will be when. My preferred way of dealing with this ..  deep leagues (AL-only) where you can get away with just plugging them in and keeping them active, scooping up whatever they give you.

Victor Robles 👀.. is it happening?

Not for me yet. It. Was. One. Weekend.

Hi Brent. Trying to decide whether to stay on the Pivetta rollercoaster in a 12-team mixed H2H league. Early-May success was driven by big improvement in Ctl/Cmd, with a 25/1 K/BB ratio in 4 starts, but his SwK is way down in his last two starts and he walked three Orioles in his last start (6 innings), with only 6 swinging strikes in 106 pitches (4 SwK in his previous start). Time to cut bait before he implodes?

It's a valid point on the risk ... and 12-teamers make it even tougher. I'm still rolling with him, partially taking into account that the BOS offense is waking up (like this last start, where he still go the W even though he didn't dominate BAL as you'd expect). But in a 12, he's likely an on-off-on roster decision throughout the year. Needs to prove his consistency, and there's only one way to do that. Which can be costly for us if we're wrong.

Hi Brent, Happy Memorial Day, I'm in a 16 team, 5X5 OBP I/O BA. Your thoughts on Trevor Larnach the rest of year. Will he be a source of power as a 4th OF? Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:56
That's the right expectation, I think -- with the possibility of grabbing onto that job and being something more. Another player with enough experience/track record to be interesting, and where you could see the PT working out positively. Not all of those hit, of course, but collecting a couple of them  and knowing when to move on can be an effective strategy.

Do you think Pasquantino or Casa gets the call up first?
Brent Hershey

Vinnie, but these types of calls are shots in the dark.

Trevor Rogers has been a real disappointment. I have an opportunity to drop him and pick up either M.Gore or N.Pivetta. Would you consider this or give Rogers more time.
Brent Hershey
1:00
I feel it (disappointment), as I loaded up too much on Rogers. I'd consider it for Gore, but not yet for Pivetta. I'm reserving Rogers where I can in hopes that this is a short-term blip I can ride out and he'll get back to 2021 version later on. But at some point I'll need that reserve spot, likely.

Just joined - happy summer! Is Harris up to stay with the Braves? And should I spend FAAB on E Small? T Marcano? Cal Mitchell? N Valesquez? -- any of em?
Brent Hershey

Buzzer-Beating-Beano: Same to you! Harris - yes, esp since they jumped him from AA. FAAB - prefer Mitchell to the rest.

Best waiver grab for HR ROS: C. Walker, D. Peralta, Gallo, Aguilar, Drury?
Brent Hershey
1:01
Walker. Hot streak coming given his Statcast numbers.

AL only 5x5, better option ROS and next year, Skubal or Javier?
Brent Hershey
1:02
Skubal; not particulalry close for me
AL

AL only 2nd catcher, Haase or Huff?
Brent Hershey
1:02
Huff, though Haase much more likely to stay on 26-man roster all year.

Hey Brent. My team is dominating in 5x5 ... except for saves plus holds. I need to make up ground but most of the top holds guys are off the board. Anyone who you'd perceive to be under the radar and worth grabbing? I have Helsley, Sewald, Chafin, Duran, Feyereisen, King and Kittredge but can only start four RP per week.
Brent Hershey

I'd say you've got excellent choices there so far; just not getting chances. Hold tight.

Do you see Shane McClanahan running into any workload issues at some point this summer?
Brent Hershey

It's possible, but not sure what the course of action would be if you have him rostered already. I'd say bank em while you got em and figure out the rest in August if that comes.

The injury hits just keep coming. Who would be your first drop (12 team 5x5 OBP): B. Lowe, Donaldson, Megill, Peralta, J. Ryan, Adames?
Brent Hershey
1:08
Right now, Donaldson or J Ryan. Prob Megill in the convo if there's any talk of a setback.

Hi! 10-tm, category Roto have Lynn, Heaney, Megill soon coming off IL. What three would you drop to make room? Morton, Pivetta, E-Rod, Contreras, Ashby, Whitlock, Montgomery, Sandoval, Skubal.  And any thoughts. Thanks
Brent Hershey
1:10
As above, not sure I trust Megill just yet. I'd drag that decision out as long as you're able to. Probably E-Rod and Contreras (only b/c it's a 10-tmr) and maybe Pivetta would be the three drops.

Hi Brent, Happy Memorial Day! League has 16 teams with 32-man rosters (with keepers) and is H2H categories. Possibly a tough question, but which of Jose Siri or Tyrone Taylor would you drop if you had to? Thanks!
Brent Hershey
1:11
I'd drop Siri; think TT has better shot at consistent playing time ROS.
