Yes, assuming health when he returns. And LA rotation could use him. Excellent command (ratios) and big time strikeout stuff.

Hi Brent, Which of these will have the biggest 2021 impact in an NL 5x5, and who's the better long term keeper?  Varsho, Dubon, Kim (SD)
Brent Hershey
12:50
2021 -- Varsho; Dubon a close second though it's been a rough start. Long term: too early to say, as Kim's pedigree overseas makes me think once he adjusts, could bring the most value here. But that SD team is such that, does he get an everyday chance to play (either 2021 or long term)? If I have to answer now, probably Varsho also ... but could be any one of the three, really.

What are your thoughts on Brady Singer the rest of the way? I'm in a H2H points league and trying to decide whether to continue rolling with him or to drop in favor of Logan Webb or even Tony Gonsolin. Thanks.
Brent Hershey

Singer has been a big surprise to me. The velo bump and decent command, on top of high GB% says that this could continue in some sense. Like Lynch and Lacy better long-term as ones to lead that rotation, but Singer could fit in the middle easier than I once thought.

Also when trying to decide on a matchup play, is last 14 days range the most appropriate vs. 7 or 30 days for e.g.

14 is a good middle ground; gets you 2-3 starts. But I'd use that in conjunction with current opponent, venue, etc. for these middle-of-the-pack guys.

Thoughts on Robbie Ray's suddenly found control over the last 3 starts. Encouraging although with an uptick in HR/9. With two starts this week is he a good play?
Brent Hershey
12:58
Pretty amazing, right? This new-look Ray is going to be pretty valuable if he can keep it up. Our per-week starting metrics like Ray's two matchups this week, so I'd say go with it. He becomes a stronger long-term play the more of these starts he strings tougher. Fun to see

What is your thoughts on Brendan Rodgers Rockies?  He is heading out to extending spring training now and could be up in about 10 day's or so.  How do you think playing shakes out?  Fulltime when Story gets traded?
Brent Hershey

COL seems to make it tough on younger guys ... but maybe Rodgers is beyond that? My bet would be they give him priority time when he gets back, moving him around some to try and see what they have with the bat. IF Story goes, Rodgers would seem to make the most sense there (Hampson could continue to spell/roam a bit). Not sure if it's valid, but hoping that's the case, that Rodgers gets his shot once he gets back.

18 tm mixed I roster D Smith; L Gurriel; Tellez & Lux. My patience should end when?

Not yet in that context. Give it a few more weeks. Sorry!

Hi! 12-team H2H Roto. Drafted both Marco Gonzales and Kikuchi. Both very end of mySPs(after Pineda). Are either worth keeping? Recently added then dropped Weathers and D Lynch
Brent Hershey

I'd keep Kikuchi for sure at this point, given you have a bench. Same for Lynch, assuming you can spot start him.

Hi Brent: thoughts on E. Escobar ROS?  Is he a top flight 2B option in a HR/RBI points league?
Brent Hershey

Yep; no concerns for now.

With Colin Moran sidelined, is Todd Frazier grabbing most of the starts?  Or is Difo in the mix?
Brent Hershey

Sigh; prob T Frazier

Deciding whether to keep Fedde this week with 2 starts (PHI, @ Arizona) in 5-by-5 NL only league.  Brett and Chase Anderson, Zach Davies, or a reliever?  Thoughts?
Brent Hershey

Scared of 2-start Fedde. Davies or a reliever for me.

I messed up trying to type this earlier: any of these worth a FAAB bid in NL only? Connor Joe, Troy Stokes, Adrianza, McKinney, B Miller, Neuse, DJ Peters, Ruf -- I need 2 bats!
Brent Hershey

McKinney, Ruf would be my targets for this week

Injuries are part of the game, and owners who move effectively gain an advantage. But I drafted a kick ass team in my NL and I am absolutely dying — Ke’Bryan, Soto, S Marte, Segura, Yadier,Polanco, and now Cron. Feel like I’m trying to get blood out of a turnip in a shallow FA pool. Give me your most genius speculation in a shallow FA pool. I’m drowning!

Use the Week Ahead hitters sheet on the site and stream a few matchup hitters week-to-week to get you through. GL!
