I'm terrified of Raisel right now. DWilliams seem to have found his form, I think he overtakes Weaver at some point. Hinch is so hard to pin down. That leaves Martinez... I think he'd be my target. Not without risk, though.

10 team league.  Is Christian Walker worth retaining.  Yanier Diaz is my catcher and I have the opportunity to shift him to CI and pick up Logan )'Hoppe who just appeared on the waiver wire.  Thoughts?  Ivan Herrera is also available as a catcher and his season has been great to date.  Is the bubble about to burst for him?

So it's basically O'Hoppe or Walker? I'd go O'Hoppe. I like the creative roster management too. Kudos.

Hi Ray,

I'm currently in first place in my AL-only, ten team Scoresheet league.  Here's my roster situation:  Semien is my 2nd baseman, I have Chapman at third, I'm platooning Rice and Paredes at first (his out-of-position adjustment makes him an average 1B), Henderson plays SS and Lindor is my DH (I can't seem to work out a trade that would move Lindor).

Paredes has elevated his game this season to the point where, I believe, he should be playing full-time.  I am, therefore, inclined to trade Rice thinking his market value is near peak.

Does trading Rice for Colt Keith seem like a good idea?  Is it a fair trade or am I giving up too much?  My patience with Semien has about run out. The Keith owner also has Arraez who qualifies at 2B.  It seems I would need to sweeten the deal with a draft pick to land him, however.

I truly appreciate any advice you have to offer.

I'm worried about Keith's playing time as the Tigers get healthy... Vierling and Parker Meadows come back, Gleyber healthy, Tork entrenched at first...  Keith could be PT loser.

Why aren't you just playing Lindor at 2B?

Put me in coach.  I’m ready to play…centerfield

I think the bigger issue is that you're 0-10 with 7 Ks. Oh, and that you've been up for over a week now and only have 10 AB. Not really understanding how this is going to work. Starting to look like a GM/manager disconnect.

15 Team League with SOLDS
I have Liam Hendricks hoping he would move into higher leverage situations in the back of the Boston Bullpen. Doesn't seem to be happening.
Drop him for Weissert at this point as Hendricks is not even getting HOLDS at this point.

Most importantly, Hendriks hasn't been effective. Yes, you can drop.

  1. ROS 4x4 no strikeouts: pick 2. S.Miller, Juan Uribe, Danny Palencia, Jesse Tinoco. Have Duran a no brainer and Puk on Il. Need to limp for 45 days.
  2. Edwatds or Meidroth ROS. sb and batting average.
Ray Murphy

  1. Oof. Not excited about any of those in 4x4. Miller and Uribe I suppose.
  2. Edwards was just starting to run when he got hurt. If you need SB you have to choose him, I think. Too much ceiling.

Hi Ray,

What’s the dealio with Corbin? All his projections and ROS numbers put his ERA over 5 and yet he’s pitching well (so far). Has Texas found a secret sauce or is he scheduled to blow up bigly? Is he worth dropping Vasquez or Mikolas for in 5x5 16-team roto?

Corbin's skills are same as last year, which is to say not good. He's getting more FB, but that's not enough on its own to save these skills. Trust the projections... we know who this guy is.

Ray, thanks for doing these.  4x4 AL-only, dynasty, with ks instead of WHIP.  Which of the following are better bets for saves, wins, and ks ROS: Cleavinger, Mark Leiter, and Whitlock?  Thanks.
Ray Murphy
1:54
I love Whitlock in theory, but he's been getting lit up too regularly. Cleavinger looks great, I'd try him... but wouldn't expect saves from any of these.

Your expectations for Roman Anthony this year and next
Ray Murphy

You just never know how these guys are going to handle the transition to MLB. I think he's going to be great, but you don't know how quickly. Look at Jackson Holliday, it seems like it's starting to click for him now.

Do you think Jackson Chourio is a top 5-10 OFer ROS in OBP league?
Ray Murphy

That's a lot to ask from a guy who has a 2% BB%.

Hi Ray. Thanks for doing this on the brink of a holiday weekend! I am eyeing Chase Meidroth as a ratio booster (5x5 OBP league, daily moves) with his recent run of... running... as a nice bonus. Right now I have Lowe and Luis Garcia Jr. at 2B, and could also use a backup for Suarez at 3B during his inevitable slumps. I know LGJ has had some bad luck, but he also doesn't walk and looks like a platoon bat (no growth vL this year). Would you drop him for Meidroth?
Ray Murphy
1:58
I don't think so, but it's close. I think Meidroth is out over his skis a bit. And Garcia's L31 skills look pretty reasonable. I think I trust Garcia to get back to what we expected from him.

Thoughts on Danny Palencia as CHC closer? He (seemingly) has the role, but does he have the skills to hang on? Who would you prefer between him, Dennis Santana, and Abner Uribe (SV only)?
Ray Murphy

I don't see it working out. Would prefer Santana for Saves, even though I think they should give that gig back to Bednar. New manager doesn't seem to agree with me on that.

OK, that was a full hour! Thanks for all the questions, enjoy your holiday weekend!
