Need to prune roster in a keeper league. Have CJ Abrams, Ketel Marte, Jeff McNeil, and Miguel Vargas all qualifying at MI, with Elly De La Cruz in the wings. Who is the better hold for 2024 and beyond: Abrams or Vargas?

That's rough. I'm probably too optimistic on Abrams, but I see I guy who is still super young and holding his own this year. Has more pop than you realize upon looking at his physique and has the speed to be a dynamic base stealer and/or top of the lineup hitter. Stays in against LHP, too.
I also like lots of things about Vargas -- he gets the edge for the organization he plays for, and there's more speed here than you realize, too, and think he's puts up the better roto line in 2023. Long-term, I see a slightly more explosive skill set in Abrams, so would lean that way. But good problem to have.

Frustrated Jordan Walker owner (selected him two years ago in a dynasty league). Does he have a path to second half playing time? O'Neill seems to be trade bait, Carlson has flopped a bit. I ask because the Cards' handling of the young man has seemed awkward, and they STILL have too many OFers.

What do you do around Memorial Day to assess your team's chances?  I do a standings projection using projected stats; should I be doing something else?

A copout answer, but whatever works for you. I try to be coldly realistic about the final four months, and think along w/ MLB teams in terms of playing time, player development, etc. That drives my fantasy decisions.
