Hey all ... great to be back on the spring Monday! Lots o' questions in the queue; I'll hammer out as many as I can. And if you've not yet partaken, please do so ...

I love finding gems in the minors.  Our keeper league provides 3 years of control after they get to the majors.  BHQ ratings has been a great guide for adding Farm players.  Given (BOS) minor leaguer Eyanson's uptick in Velo and solid control, would you consider BHQ's 7E rating a bit conservative?  I like him a lot more than some of the 8E pitchers I've watched, or still too small sample size to upgrade?
Brent Hershey
12:01
Yes, he's likely to be a riser in our next update in both rank and grades. He's taken strides forward this year and just got promoted to AA and worth a shot. Good luck!

Hi Brent, thanks for the chats! 10 tm H2H w/focus on Wins-need to make a drop. Who are the bottom two out of G. Holmes, L. Henderson, Sheehan, E-Cab, K. Harrison?
Brent Hershey
12:02
Holmes and ... hmmm ... one of the Brewers. Henderson, I guess, just b/c Harrison seems to be higher in the pecking order. Tough 2d choice, tho.

What is going on with Corey Seager? Could he be hiding an injury?
Brent Hershey
12:05
Always possible with Seager. Take that out though, and oower is fine, but combination of a few more whiffs and some batted-ball bad luck is the reason for the BA tank. Should even out assuming health.

AL only standard rotis with keepers. Hopelessly out of the money. Would you trade $40 J-Ram and $24 Gunnar, both with expiring contracts for Caglianone, $5 needs raise next year, Caleb Durbin $6, and Colt Emerson? Thank you as always.
Brent Hershey
12:07
Seems early to punt, but only-leagues are tough. The return seems light for both; in your case I'd probably shop both of those guys separately. Cags and Emerson are really good targets; Durbin not bad. But tons of value you have there with 5 months each left for J-Ram/Gunnar.

Hi Brent,  After some early issues, my team is actually showing some life in a 6X6 14-team mixed rotisserie league.  I need some help making tough decisions in two areas right now for ROS and short run:                                                            1) Starting pitchers (start six) - Cut ties with Bradish and Painter, leaving - K. Gausman, N. Eovaldi, C. Dollander,,                N. Schultz, P. Tolle, L. Roupp, and T. Bradley..  Order and who would you cut if necessary?   Gausman, of course and Eovaldi looked very good last time out, Bradley looks solid, but I really like the young guys.                                             2) Outfield - Keep two or three from B. Doyle, L. Gurriel, J. Dominguez, M. Andujar, E. Ruiz,  Who would you cut, who would you start?  Patience with Doyle and Gurriel, or cut bait and go with Andujar or the young guys?                                                        Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:10
  1. Probably cut Roupp, though that's still a ton of risk (both injury and lack of track record). I'd hold off as long as you can for those decisions
  2. Cut Doyle, patience with Gurriel; prob cut Ruiz, too (just don't trust it).

12 Team H2H mixed league traditional scoring. Trying to replace Suarez at 3B while on IL. Recommendations for solid replacement Jeremiah Jackson, Nick Gonzalez, Nolan Gorman or David Hamilton. Don't really like any but need the help.
Brent Hershey
12:12
Gorman is a great stream this week, v all RHP. Short-term, Jackson probably gets the most AB. NickG somewhat interesting, but need to see how that Triolo/NG 3B situation plays out. Go Gorman for now, maybe play it week-to-week?

Q1. Get the salsa ready! ROS 4x4 please rank Ryne Nelson, Prielipp, Taillon and Dollander. No strikeouts in filters.
Q2. Warm the chips; target batting average and steals, rank Friedl, Church and Lile. Thanks again.
Brent Hershey
12:14
  1. Dollander, Taillon, Prielipp, Nelson
  2. Lile, Church, Friedl

Sip that margarita and go!

12:14
In a 12 team OBP league, which of these slow starters should I look to be replacing most?  Merrill, Riley, Hernandez
Brent Hershey
12:14
Hernandez (assuming Teo)

Hi Brent, I always enjoy and benefit from these chats, Call me crazy but despite always starting Springer unless he's on the IL, I think I will bench him this week. His foot seems too problematic for my comfort. Alternatives are: Baty, Stott, Manzardo, Beavers. Which to go with? Or put my reservations aside and write Springer's name into the lineup?
Brent Hershey
12:18
Not crazy thought, but not sure I'm up for the alternatives. Baty could have a nice half-week in Coors; perhaps that gets him going? Should continue to play with Mauicio down. Stott could be heating up, 5/7 against RHP. Would be one of those two ... but push/shove; think I just run Springer back out unless he's not starting tonight

Hi Brent, 10 team AL only.  M Burrows. can he rebound? Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:18
Yep; I think it's starting already. Not an ace, but a contributor ROS

Speculating on saves this week - finnegan or rico Garcia?
Brent Hershey
12:19
Finnegan, slightly. Stats and metrics much better recently after a rough start. Garcia a worthy shot, though, too.

Dear Brent - 12 points head to head need to decide between Okamoto and Jung at 3B this week, maybe longer.  Thoughts?  Cares?  Concerns?
Brent Hershey
12:21
Have a weird soft spot for Jung; that's where I'd lean. Showing that with health, can contribute. In a 12, I'd run him out until he gets hurt again. Okamoto not bad, but this run at this level won't last.

Hello Brent - I have Bradish and Bubba in 12 Team Roto and shake my head after every start when I look at the Matchup Tool the next day and see that low number. Bradish has three 1s and a goose egg in his last five. How much longer would you hold em?
Brent Hershey
12:26
Bradish - what a disappointment after that late-2025 blip. SwK way down, hit rate tanking. Prob can cut loose in a 12 right now. And Chandler, too ... just walking the world right now w/o Ks to compensate. Especially in 12-teamers, I'd think time to move on.
Dale Doback
12:28
Hi Brent - have Willy Adames in 12 team roto and H2H points.  Thankfully, I've been able to keep him on the bench in roto.  Any underlying signs of life?
Brent Hershey
12:28
Been ugly; glad you have bench space. But again in a 12, there might well be better options. Super unlucky on HR/F, and you know you're not getting BA or hits with him.
Jason
12:28
12 team OBP league, would you rather rest of the season Jung or Riley?
Brent Hershey
12:28
Riley, slightly, even with my Jung love

Hiya! As always, thanks for these chats. NL 10 team 5x5–Eldridge due up today - will he get the playing time to make a difference? Will JR Ritchie have enough success against lefties to be a wise roster addition? Will Erik Miller take the SF closer job?
Brent Hershey
12:32
Eldridge - Have to think he'll get PT, but REALLY interested to see who that affects in the lineup. Seems like it might push out Schmitt—but he's been one of their few good hitters. Crazy power, lotsa Ks; skills in the Jac Cags realm. Like Ritchie to stick; wide arsenal and smarts to be a #4 guy at least with mid-rotation potential. Miller in the mix; but don't feel like he'll claim the FT job -- don't think anyone will.

15 team 5x5 dynasty. I need some saves and ratio help but terrified of the closer/reliever chaos this year… can you rank: Kittredge, Anthony Nunez, Braydon fisher, zeferjahn, Keegan akin, Senzatela, Keaton Winn, Mason Montgomery. Thanks for all the work
Brent Hershey
12:33
Yeah ... MasMont, Senzatela, Kittredge my 3 faves. Not sure about dynasty value, but those my picks for this year.
RR
12:37
Have had Royce Lewis on my dynasty league team from day one and he's still killing me. Other than a few good streaks, he's either injured or unproductive. Problem is my team is not strong at 3B. Do you see anything positive for Lewis? Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:37
Pedigree will continue to earn him time; but he's just a streaky hitter with injury concerns. Line-drive rate over the past seasons headed in the wrong direction, this year hasn't had the power to turn those extra FBs into HR. You probably hold for now, but not like he's a foundational piece that you likely hoped for at one point.

The enigma surrounding Noelvi Marte.  He's hitting .400 in AAA but the Reds keep calling up outfielders who can't hit and passing him by.  Is it time to cut him and move on as it appears that he is in someone's doghouse and is just treading water in the minors?
Brent Hershey
12:38
Too young/talented to cut in my opinion, but I hear ya and the "vibes" are not really good ones. Nothing insider, just as you say, how they are promoting other guys first. To cut/move on all depends on other options.

Good morning it’s May and getting closer to start really thinking about the standings. Would you two start bassit this week? His matchup ratings low on our pitching tool but they also were low last week and he pitched well and has two starts this week at Miami and home versus Oakland. Could start Grant Taylor, JoJo Romero, Ryan Walker, Ben Brown or Devin Williams instead.  Speaking of relief, this is a 5x5 solds league who do you prefer this week and all season - floundering Ryan Walker w 6 home games or Devin Williams with 6 home games or Romero with 7 games for this scoring period? Finally, for utility this period: Ozuna, Burger or Julien for 5x5 with obp. Thank you as always pal!
