Humans are, as a group, sometimes not very bright.
On the plus side, we've corrected our mistake pretty quickly!

What do you think of this 3v2 trade?: Morton, Manaea, L. Castillo  for  DeGrome/Pivetta ? which side wins
Meg Rowley
12:26
I would encourage you to ask an actual fantasy expert and as luck would have it, one is chatting right. stinking. now. over at RotoGraphs!

I've heard a lot about it, but I haven't been able to track down audio of Jenny Cavnar's play by play broadcast of the Rockies game.  Were you able to listen and how was she?
Meg Rowley
12:27
I was not, sadly. Twitter seemed to enjoy it, and I have heard nothing but good things about Jenny prior to now.

What is the worst destination for a free agent?
Meg Rowley
12:28
The place he goes as a last resort. It sucks to feel unwanted.

12:29
Nationals seem to be fumbling the use of the DL pretty badly right now...aggressive use worked for the Dodgers, shouldn't more teams be doing it like that?
Meg Rowley
12:29
The Dodgers had the benefit of crazy, crazy depth.
12:30
That isn't easy to replicate.

How bout that A’s lineup?  realistic shot at WC2?
Meg Rowley
12:31
How about that A's lineup!?
The A's are tied with the Yankees in team wRC+.
What a time to be alive, this time we're alive in.
12:32
I actually liked the lineup (not this much) before the season and thought it would come down to pitching. I think it still will, but that lineup gives a little buffer. It's a crowded field, though, and I don't think they're the most like WC2 in their own division, so...

should surprisingly-decent-start mediocre teams (Mariners/Pirates) look at teams like the Reds and Royals to make a move early to add?  How early do we see teams strike generally?
Meg Rowley
12:34
Seems way too early for especially the Mariners to think about that, as they're a bad spell away from having to ask hard questions of their own future, and what do they have to trade that they don't need?
Morbo
12:34
I traded Chris Sale straight up for Corey Kluber in my roto league. Good decision or great decision? Does this mean Carson will be my friend now?
Meg Rowley
12:34
You should go ask him on twitter right now, but in my experience, Carson is an amiable sort who saves his grudges for more serious slights.

41 homers and a 123 wRC+ doesn't play at any other time in baseball history? Um, I don't think so sweetie.
Meg Rowley
12:36
I meant running a career K% close to 40%, which he has managed to trim to within acceptable parameters given the home runs and other contact.

12:36
how worried should I be as a Nats fan right now?  10-13 and already 5.5 behind the Mets.
Meg Rowley
12:37
A little worried. Hold on one moment while I look something up.
12:38
Jeff wrote about this last week but I wanted to look up the latest. The Mets have improved their odds of winning the division 16% since Opening Day.
12:39
It's the largest move in the NL, looks like, and is second only to the Red Sox.
Now, we still project the Nats to win the division. But they're already trimming some margin.

Will the uncertainty of free agency as experienced during this offseason cause more 30+ FAs to not exercise their opt outs?
Meg Rowley
12:41
This is one of the things I'll be most curious to watch this year. I think there will be a general reluctance, but as always, it depends so much on the individual guy.
12:42
I suspect that guys who see themselves in the elite tier will operate as usual but we might see fewer guys who are willing to test the market without that certainty.

12:42
How do you think the Matt Harvey/bullpen situation will go for the Mets?  Is it a ticking time bomb, or does it have a chance to work in your opinion?
Meg Rowley
12:43
I think it has a much better shot to work than any of their other Harvey options, which sounds like I'm being snarky, but I swear I'm not.
12:44
He might be surly about it (an understandable reaction to embarrassment) but on some level he had to know it wasn't working. This gives him a chance to contribute.

Obviously a lot of this will unfold over the upcoming years but is there anything to glean from Lorena Martin’s time with the Mariners yet?
Meg Rowley
12:47
Not just yet. These sorts of changes are philosophical as much as anything else. I have heard that conditioning at the MLB level is more coordinated now. Ryan Divish has a piece on why so many more of the M's players are wearing c-flaps that I haven't read yet, but I wonder if that is her doing.
I worry that fans don't understand Dr. Martin's role that well, and so she is shouldering some blame for freaky early season injuries that isn't fair.

Can we start a petition to send Mike Trout to Driveline this offseason so he has a plus arm in addition to everything else? I just want to see the greatest Mike Trout that Mike Trout can Mike Trout.
Meg Rowley
12:48
You are seeing such a good Mike Trout! A great Mike Trout! A great baseball player! Maybe, the greatest baseball player.
Why monkey with an already basically perfect thing?

Have you seen the article on BP about Pujols being two years older than he officially says? Would that be enough to void or renegotiate his contract?
