Under, but over 32.
Why 32? I dunno, it seems right.

Is the perception on Boegarts busted? he has averaged 4 WAR the last 3 years and is only 25 but I feel like people are down on him.
Meg Rowley
2:53
I guess maybe for some. 2017 was a relatively down year, but not in a way that I think portends something permanent.

Robinson Cano- Should the M's dump him for prospects if they can?
Meg Rowley

What team is taking that contract? The best years of it have probably already happened, and it doesn't get much cheaper as time goes on.
If they could, sure, that would be part of the rebuild but I am skeptical.

According to fWAR Kevin Pillar has been the 18th most valuable outfielder in MLB since 2015.

With the rise in home run rates, is Barry Bonds record in trouble of being broken?
Meg Rowley
2:55
Allow me to look up one thing.
2:56
I don't think so. Here is why.
2:58
The closest active player to Bonds is Pujols with 615. We don't know that the ball will stay this way. It is just such a crazy gap to close, even in this environment.

Will the Mariners continue with 2 1B only players when Cruz gets back and they need a fifth starter?
Meg Rowley

There will surely be some shuffling when Erasmo comes back, Gamel is healthy, and Cruz is ready to come off the DL. Most immediately, I wouldn't be surprised if they sent Motter back to Tacoma.

Do you think the MLBPA is considering the Blackmon extension a win?
Meg Rowley
3:02
I would think so. He doesn't have to worry about the market, he gets $100 million+ as an over 30-year-old. They should always want everyone to get as much as possible but I thought it was a fair deal, especially given his age and how Coors complicates the perception of him in the market.

Which outdated baseball thing would you rather have back?: World Series day games, triples-friendly ballparks, or 250+ inning pitchers
Meg Rowley
3:03
Selfishly as a writer who likes to sleep at reasonable times, World Series day games. But that is the least interesting answer.
Triple-friendly parts is the real one. Triples are great fun.

I think he meant the single season record of 73
Meg Rowley
3:04
Ehhhhh still a no, I think.
3:05
But it sure would be interesting to see how a new home run record aided by the juiced ball would be talked about. And of course, quite fun to see.

How do you feel about players openly showing more emotions after homeruns or striking out people? I like it, as long as there is no stare downs and mean mugging
Meg Rowley
3:06
I can't imagine what it would take to psyche yourself up to be a professional player; I can imagine the feeling even less when it works out how you want. I think guys can express joy without being jerks to their opponents, and I like it when they do.

how concerned should Dodgers fans be right now on their start?
Meg Rowley

Right now? Not very.

Work argument over what’s harder scoring a goal in NHL or getting a hit in MLB. My instant choice was getting a hit but stats like shots on goal percentage say it’s scoring a goal. Thoughts??
Meg Rowley

The actual act of making contact with a baseball seems like it would be much harder; fielders make the actual is it a hit part more complicated. I will admit to not knowing enough about hockey to realllly know though.
Ok all, I have to run a bit early. Carson is traveling for Pitch Talks (go see him tonight if you are in Toronto!) and has asked me to make sure the site doesn't burn all the way down.

Reminder for next week: I will be chatting Tuesdays starting next week. Eric will take this spot. Thanks for hanging out and sorry for what I couldn't get to!
