This team looks a lot better on paper when you have the four centers in place: Crosby, Malkin, Carter, Blueger. The top line has been effective. You have to count on Rakell clicking with Malkin. Carter can center a two-way line that's defensive responsible and provide the occasional scoring spark. And then Blueger is in his right place as the anchor of a shut-down line. The Penguins protected all four centers in the expansion draft with this hope in mind. They need that center depth to be the team they hope to be

Mike, another prediction.  I predict that if the Pens flame out after the 1st Rd, Hextall will begin changing the Pens to become the heavier team he and Burke would rather have.  Your thoughts?

Quite honestly, the Rangers look like the better right now. They're ahead in the standings. They've beaten the Penguins three of four. So I don't think a first-round exit would be surprising... I imagine there will be an evolution to the roster over time. I don't think they go all in on size. But I would agree they get a little heavier this offseason

Hi Mike.  I understand the Pens strategy now.  They are turning the tables on the other contenders.  Instead of the Pens winning meaningless regular season games and folding in the playoffs, they are letting the other teams do it.  Brilliant!  What do you think?
