Well you know more than me about Avonworth and Wash High. But Avonworth loses QB and also stud receiver Grau. That's a lot. Wash High QB is back. Yes, they'll be in top 5 both probably. But I really don't have 2019 Class 2A football in my brain right now.

Predictions for Hampton boys BB? Does Lafko struggle this year?
Mike White
11:45
Joe Lafko always does a good job. This won't be one of his best teams, but Mignogna still there and he's pretty good. Losing DeGregorio to North Catholic hurt. Won't be great team but wouldn't surprise if still competitive.

Southern Columbia is a public school?  How are they at Hershey every year?
Mike White
11:49
Because they keep getting talented kids and keep winning and their coach is good. TJefferson is a public school. How are they in WPIAL championship almost every year???

We have had a couple of years (2 falls actually) with the expanded classifications in all sports. Your opinion on what has transpired and if changes are needed-mainly a decrease in classes in some sports. Are coaches satisfied?
Mike White
11:52
Some coaches are. Some aren't. Six classes has benefited some schools. Some schools it has hurt travel wise. Some rivalries are gone. Attendance in football is way down and six classes is one of the reasons. Some have become more competitive with six classes. Don't be surprised if WPIAL considers a four-class system, and then have some kind of system where they still qualify six teams for PIAA playoffs. But I think you better get used to six classes. Because I don't think PIAA has any plans to change it.

How good of a coach is Stefko at NA? Good coach or just lucky to have talent (Seton LaSalle and NA)?
Mike White
11:54
Excellent coach. I mean, how can you say he's just lucky?? Sure it helps to have good players. There are a lot of good coaches out there who just don't have much talent. But for Spencer Stefko, he has won at three different places - Char Valley, Seton LaSalle and now NA. You don't do that by being lucky.

Why has Upper St Clair's sports programs become so unsuccessful lately ? Is it time to change the AD or coaches or what ?
Mike White
11:55
Ahhhh, the AD has been there a little over a year. And sure, teams don't win championships for a few years, it must be the coaches. Has to be. Couldn't be that maybe they just aren't as good as other teams or don't have as much talent. But when teams lose, it has to be the coaches.

Your thoughts on why Josh Shoop would leave PR to go to Plum as AD. Seems like a step down. Parents, admin, or does he like to travel more?
Mike White
11:57
I agree that one's a mystery. But there is no utopia in high schools. Seriously. Every school has its own set of problems. Some just more than others, whether it's administrators, school boards, or parents. But I don't know why he left.

Do you believe peters and Penn hills would have been as good had they remained in 6A
Mike White
11:58
No. They still would've been very good but I don't think Penn Hills would be playing for a state championship in 6A. They would've been very good, though.
Hey that's about it for now. Time to grab maybe a PB and J for lunch. Be good, everyone.
