Mike, have we heard exactly what is going on with Sensor at CV?  Real reason for dismissed.  Was at the game and understand the player and family attacked verbally the coach.  Now the coach is out?????  This seems like a big story nobody is talking about.  I for one believe coaches have to be protected better.

I did a story on it last week. Don't know the full story because, of course, school administrators won't talk. Coach Sensor said he was told not to comment right now. Might get more info in future. The thing is, it's unsure what the coach wanted to do with the player because no one will talk. Did he want to throw him off the team? Is this a case again of administration not supporting a coach? A case of administration not supporting a coach because they're afraid of parents? I don't know. But I do know I see this and hear this more and more about administrations. They're dang afraid of parents and back down to parents. It doesn't happen in just spors, either. It happens in school. Why do you think there aren't as many teaching candidates these days? Because many don't want to deal with the crap from parents when they aren't backed up by administration. Oh well, that's my rant for the day.

Is 5A the deepest classification this year? Seems like there are a lot of good teams. Some good teams might miss the playoffs and playoff seedings could be difficult when the time comes.

I think so, as far as depth of quality teams. But 4A is pretty good, too.

Do you think TJ is a threat in 5A.  Watched them play Bethel Friday and I thought they looked pretty good. I am looking forward to seeing Bethel play Peters tonight.

These schools seem to side with the parents to take the easy way out just to make their problems go away.  CV is doing it again with this Davis situation.  They did it do McConnell before.  It's not just school districts either because it has happened at Catholic schools too. Administrators will sacrifice a coach at the drop of a hat. Who do the coaches have to defend them???

Speaking of Joe Roth, do you know if he’s going to concentrate on swimming or basketball in college?

He has not signed with a college yet. I know at this time last year he was going to concentrate on swimming for college because he was getting recruited at a higher level for swimming. Not all that much interest from colleges in basketball. I don't think he's a Division I hooper. I did not see him live last year. Would he be worth Division II in hoops? Not sure. But I hope he gets to do what he wants to do in college, whether it be swimming or basketball. Truth be told, I know a few years ago, he said he probably liked basketball more.

Appreciate the rant.... many saw and heard with own eyes what was said.  Player swore at coach.  Fans, possibly family members, verbally attacked the coach.  I am so interested in how CV athletics gave a 2 game suspension to this situation and in the same year a different player got two games for pushing a coach away during a substitution.  We have players and parents attacking a coach from what we saw and heard.  I will say it... shame on CV athletics for not supporting a coach holding actions accountable.  Support for Sensor.

And before you use the, also ran for over 900 yards defense, his qb averaged 1 yard more per carry with 50% more carries....because he had to carry the load largely because the rb would leave the game injured only to return later.   PG does a kid no favors by not making him earn it.  Fab 22 should be about performance, and not potential.   That said, lots of good picks on there.

Thank you Mike White for facilitating a discussion.  I hope CV Athletics takes a hard look at the history. There is a pattern and HS sports deserves better.

I hear ya. Like I said, I don't think this story is over. Maybe coach Sensor will talk after season. Or maybe he has some actions he might take, but doesn't want to talk about right now. Have to wait and see.

I guess my first post didn't go thru.   A linebacker on Fab 22 that averaged 3 tackles a game.   That's not only not Fab 22 worthy, it is flat out weak for someone playing that position. The Garcia kid at Southern Columbia averaged 13 tackles per game his sophomore year...also on a team that was loaded and played 16 games.  Lots of great picks on Fab 22, but doing a kid no favors by giving accolades for that.

I can't spell the name. I don't want to rip the player, only the selection process that favors potential (namely D1 recruits)  over performance.    I agree that he has potential, but underperforms.  I actually thought the same when JPJ was selected...something like 18 tackles and 11 receptions...albeit at db. The potential was obviously there, but so many other wpial players that outperformed.
