Another head scratcher in 6A girls. Pine-Richland and Seneca Valley tie for section title. Just played last week and they have to play each other in first round as seeds No. 4 and 5. I realize they both lost to No. 3 Upper St. Clair. But could've done some "creative" seeding to keep Pine and Seneca away from each other in first round. Would've been simple. If you wanted to put Upper St. Clair at No. 3, put Seneca at No. 6 and play USC. Put Hempfield at No. 5 (even though they're not No. 5) and play Pine-Richland

When Tim O'Malley was WPIAL boss, they would do some "creative" seeding, but explain what they did. Could've been done again with Seneca Valley and Pine-Richland.

Well that's about it. Exciting time of year. Go see a playoff game. My favorite team of the high school sports year is the quarterfinals and especially semifinals. Now I gotta go. The Mrs. leftover chicken parm is calling.
