I like Quips to come out of 3A. Really good athletes, jelling together right now. I think their athleticism would give Elwood lot of problems. Though big kid Roth might dominate in that game. What are your thoughts?

Roth gives Ellwood City something a lot of Class 3A teams don't have - a fairly big inside player who's talented. I still like Ellwood in 3A.

I've heard froma number of different coaches that some of the bigger schools "have nothing to gain" from playing OLSH so they won't schedule them. Any thoughts?

You're probably right. I know some teams in higher classes don't want to lose to teams in lower class.

The problem with crowd control at a high school hockey game is that athletic department really aren’t in charge as hockey is just a club sport that merely uses districts name.

Bingo. You're exactly right. High school hockey is not school sponsored, so athletic department is not involved with security, etc., at games. However, I think rinks have their own security. Plus, there are plenty of high school and junior high sports where there isn't security present from the school.

When will the WPIAL put an end to the recruitment in our area? Most of the schools locally that are having great success have poached players from other schools.

That's not true. Don't cover everyone with the same blanket. Plenty of good teams do things the right way. Recruiting and transfers will never stop. It's hard to prove also.
