No, Fox Chapel shouldn't even go. Cancel the bus. Put away the uniforms. Fox Chapel fans can save money on gas. C'mon, man. Yes, it would be a gigantic upset, but this Upper St. Clair team isn't 2007 Schenley.

Nice little story down in Ringgold this year. They've  had a tough go in 5A the last few years and were able to make the playoffs and get a win  Will be tough tonight against Lincoln Park but they have almost everyone back and I believe will drop to 4A next season.

I agree. Ringgold has struggled lately. Used to have a really good basketball tradition. I don't know if they will ever get back to those glory days, but it's nice to see what's happened. I know lot of people who don't like six classes, but another example of how six classes helps make some teams more competitive.

Doesn't the PIAA have a say in classifications? How would it work if WPIAL went to 4 classifications in state playoffs if states still have 6 classifications?
Mike White

I don't quite get what you're asking. The PIAA determines number of classifications. A district could go with however many classficiations they want. But in WPIAL's sake, if they went to four classes, league would still have to come up with a way to get a representative for each of the six classes.

when it comes to playoffs, does the Wpial assign refs to those games or would that only be for neutral site games? I know going up north or down s
Mike White
11:51
WPIAL assigns all officials for postseason games, whether they are at a home or neutral site.

I hear New Castle is planning to have all their players play one handed to let Mt Lebanon have a competitive game. Any truth to that ?
Mike White
11:55
Yes, and I also hear Mt. Lebanon coach Joe David is secretly getting his pro team that he owns in Italy to fly over and practice against Mt. Lebanon today and all day tomorrow to get the Blue Devils ready. The Mt. Lebanon players will not have to attend school tomorrow. They will just practice all day long against the pros. And then because it's NBA All-Star break, I heard T.J. McConnell will also be at Mt. Lebanon's practice today and tomorrow with his friend Tyreese Haliburton installing the Indiana Pacers offense to go against New Castle. Should be interesting.

When will we see the fall conferences and schedules?
Mike White

WPIAL has said conferences will be released in March.

And there's the final buzzer. Thanks, everyone for participating. Going to see some games next few nights. Will be at North Allegheny for doubleheader tomorrow. Good luck, teams, players, coaches. Make some memories. Let's talk again next Tuesday at 11.
