The real champs
11:43
Since we know that 6a final will be between 2 private schools who emerges as the public school champ ?
Mike White
11:45
Ahhhh, just FYI. The PIAA 6A final for boys has had at least one public school team in five finals since the class was started in 2017. Only two years ago, the final was two public schools - Central York and Parkland.
Title town
11:45
Would the PIAA ever consider moving the title games to Petersen Center here and Xfinity Center in Philly ? Or maybe the Jordan Centre ?
Mike White
11:46
They played the games at Jordan Center for a while. The question is do these places want to host the games? The question is usually know. Or they make the price so high. I think The Pete did put in for the finals a few years ago, but didn't get them. I don't have a problem with them in Hershey.
City League
11:47
who is the last city league team, to make it to the state championship game
Mike White
11:47
Allderdice in 2016.

I get everything is predetermined before the year starts but some teams don’t belong in the PIAA playoffs. Would they ever go to taking winner and runner up that’s it?
Mike White
11:47
They do take just winner and maybe runnerup in some districts. Depends on how many teams you have. I don't have a problem with 32-team field in each class.
City League

Last one for you, Mike before I gotta get back to work , with Eric James of Obama taking advantage of the in season transfer rule do you see the PIAA tweaking their rules. other than him I never really seen anybody transfer in season
Mike White
11:50
I do not. Fact is people come up with excuses sometimes to fit the exceptions to be postseason eligible. Sometimes it's lies. But people have been lying to get eligible for ages. You're right that in-season transfers usually don't happen. James is one. Here's another notable one. Micah Parsons transferred from Central Dauphin to Harrisburg in middle of 2016 season. I think that's when they put in rule that you have to be enrolled for 21 days before you can play if you transfer midseason.
1A hoops fan
11:50
Hey Mike! Rooting for one our 1A Wpial teams to make it as far as possible. So does Neighborhood beat Johnsonburg and does Serra Beat Elk county Catholic?
Mike White
11:51
They'll go 1-1.
Sam

How good is that Federico kid from char valley? I have yet to see him in person but seen some highlights and he’s solid and has size. Will he be a p5 recruit by his senior year? Or what is his ceiling do you think?
Mike White
11:53
I really like him. Tons of potential. Long (6-5) and athletic. Looks like he's going to get bigger, too. Heck, I think he still has braces. Has lot to his game. Think he needs to improve 3-point shot some and become more consistent with it. Has an offer from LaSalle, but more will come his away, especially if he grows a little more. Keep hearing his 8th grade brother is a real player, too. Is he Power 4? Not sure of that. Lot will depend on summers in AAU and how much he grows. High school recruiting hard to predict nowadays unless you're like a top 100 guy.
Coach
11:54
Any word on who Lebo's new football coach might be ? Seems like a toxic environment to coach in. Poor fellow whoever he is
Mike White
11:54
Should be soon.

Mike any thoughts on the rumor of a former Wpial coach and Pittsburgher (Herb Sendek) possibly leaving Santa Clara to go to Providence? Wish Pitt would have called!
Mike White
11:55
I've only seen the rumors you have. Herb is one of the great guys in the coaching business. Seriously. A-1 guy. Was an assistant at Providence years ago. Sorry, but no way Pitt hires him.
Go back to bed
11:55
Mike can I go back to bed ?
Mike White
11:55
If you must.
Sam
11:56
About the little Federico kid heard rumors that he was looking at neighborhood because of Julius page? Not sure how true but just interesting to watch I guess?
Mike White
11:57
I would seriously, seriously doubt that. Remember, his brother is at CV. For goodness sake, his dad is an assistant at CV. And there's no guarantee Page will be back at Neighborhood.

11:59
I know Herb was a central assistant I think? Did he coach anywhere else in wpial or play?
Mike White
11:59
Herb was a pretty good player at Penn Hills.
12:01
Well that's it for today. Good stuff. Lots of historical stuff. Shameless plug for historical stuff. I'm going to do a piece on on 6-7, 280-pound Upper St. Clair big man Ryan Robbins, a major-college football prospect at OL. Going to look back at some of the "big" men who made it big in football but were really good high school basketball players also. Be good, everyone.
