Neshannock-Western Beaver is WPIAL's lone 3-0 vs 3-0. Figure this one will go a long way towards MAC finish. Western's win over Beaver has me leaning their way. Thoughts?

I agree with you on your logic. Western appears to be rolling. Neshannock has done well, but Neshannock has allowed at least 28 points in every game. I'll go Western Beaver.

Hi Mike. Long time follower. It seems as though Blackhawk football can't get anything going. Any reasons behind it, or just a tough stretch of athletes?

I don't know the reasons. Judging by just the kids who went to colleges in Joe Hamilton days, there doesn't seem to be as much talent at Blackhawk as years ago. But hey, they were in WPIAL semifinals just three years ago. And they just had a nice win over Mars. But hey, let's remember. Blackhawk won only three games in each of Joe Hamilton's last three years as coach. So, things were starting to slip when Joe retired after the 2014 season.

Parting words for the week, and thanks always Mike for chat: Laurel & SS Beaver are two dark horses in 1A. Both dropped from 2A which makes them dangerous. Quips-Central Valley will be best regular season game in WPIAL. Eliz Forward breaks through this year and wins 3A. Maybe no big surprises there, but looking forward to mid/late season!
